3. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected at the circuit breaker. This fixture is designed for recessed mounting in T-bar grid ceilings or can be suspended (suspension kit sold separately).
3.1 Mounting Options:
- Recessed T-Bar Grid: Place the panel directly into a standard 2x4 ft T-bar ceiling grid opening. Secure with appropriate clips (if not integrated).
- Suspended Mounting: Use a compatible suspension kit (not included) to hang the panel from the ceiling structure. Follow the suspension kit's instructions for secure installation.

3.2 Electrical Wiring:
- Ensure the main power supply is OFF.
- Connect the fixture's input wires to the building's electrical supply (100-347V). Follow standard wiring color codes: Black to Line, White to Neutral, Green/Ground to Ground.
- For 0-10V dimming functionality, connect the purple wire to the dimmer's positive (+) output and the gray wire to the dimmer's negative (-) output. Ensure the dimmer is compatible with 0-10V LED drivers.
- Secure all wire connections with appropriate wire nuts or connectors.
3.3 Color Temperature (CCT) Selection:
The fixture features selectable CCT. Locate the CCT selection switch on the back or side of the fixture. Choose between 3500K (Neutral White), 4000K (Cool White), or 5000K (Daylight) before final installation or powering on.
4. Operating Instructions
Once installed and wired, restore power to the fixture.
- Normal Operation: The panel will illuminate to the selected CCT and brightness level determined by the 0-10V dimmer (if connected).
- Dimming: Adjust the compatible 0-10V dimmer to control the light output from 100% down to 10%.
- Emergency Operation: In the event of a power outage, the integrated emergency battery backup will automatically activate, providing approximately 90 minutes of illumination at a reduced lumen output (8W/~1000 lumens).
- Emergency Test: Press the integrated test button (refer to Figure 2) to manually check the emergency battery function. The indicator light will show the battery status (e.g., green for charged, red for charging/fault).
5. Maintenance
The Nuvo Lighting 65-586 LED panel is designed for minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the surface of the panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- LED Lifespan: The LED light source has a rated lifespan of 50,000 hours, meaning no bulb changes are required.
- Emergency Battery: The integrated emergency battery is maintenance-free. Regular testing using the test button is recommended to ensure proper function.
6. Troubleshooting
