Setup

Power Source and Battery Installation

The Casio DR-240R operates on AC power and requires 2 AAA batteries for memory backup. Ensure the calculator is connected to a power outlet for primary operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the underside of the calculator.
  2. Slide the cover to open it.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Paper Roll Installation

To enable printing, a paper roll must be correctly installed.

  1. Open the printer cover by lifting it gently.
  2. Place a new paper roll into the paper roll holder, ensuring the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll.
  3. Feed the leading edge of the paper into the printer slot until it emerges from the top.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Use the FEED button to advance the paper if necessary.

To set a tax rate and perform tax calculations:

  1. To set the tax rate: Press SET, enter the tax rate percentage, then press TAX+.

Cost, Sell, and Margin Calculations

The calculator can determine any of these three values if the other two are known.
