5. Setup

5.1 Assembly

The Ender 3 Neo comes partially assembled. Follow the included quick start guide or refer to official Creality assembly videos for detailed steps. Ensure all screws are tightened securely and cables are connected correctly.

5.2 Initial Leveling (CR Touch)

The CR Touch system automates bed leveling. After assembly, power on the printer and navigate to the 'Leveling' menu. Select 'CR Touch' to initiate the 16-point automatic leveling process. This will probe the print surface at multiple points to create a mesh for accurate printing.

5.3 Filament Loading

Mount the filament spool onto the holder. Feed the filament through the filament sensor (if present) and into the full-metal extruder. Heat the nozzle to the appropriate temperature for your filament type (e.g., 200°C for PLA). Once heated, gently push the filament until it extrudes from the nozzle.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Printing Process

  1. Prepare your 3D model (.STL file) using a slicing software (e.g., Creality Slicer, PrusaSlicer). Configure print settings such as layer height, infill, temperatures, and supports.
  2. Save the sliced file (.GCODE) to the provided SD card.
  3. Insert the SD card into the printer's card slot.
  4. From the printer's display, select 'Print from SD' and choose your GCODE file.
  5. The printer will preheat the nozzle and bed, then begin printing. Monitor the first layer to ensure proper adhesion.

6.2 Resume Printing Function

If power is interrupted during a print, the printer will automatically save its progress. Upon restoration of power, the display will offer options to 'Resume Print' or 'Stop Print'. Select 'Resume Print' to continue from where it left off.

7. Maintenance

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Poor First Layer AdhesionBed not level, Z-offset incorrect, dirty build surface, incorrect bed temperature.Re-run CR Touch auto-leveling, adjust Z-offset, clean the build surface with isopropyl alcohol, increase bed temperature.
Filament Not Extruding / Clogged NozzleNozzle clogged, incorrect temperature, tangled filament, extruder issue.Heat nozzle and manually push filament, clean or replace nozzle, check filament path, ensure extruder is functioning.
Stringing / OozingRetraction settings incorrect, nozzle temperature too high, wet filament.Adjust retraction distance and speed in slicer, lower nozzle temperature, dry filament.
Printer is NoisyLoose components, fan noise, stepper motor vibrations.Check for loose screws, ensure fans are clear, the silent mainboard should minimize motor noise.
Runaway Heating Condition ErrorFaulty thermistor, heating element issue, mainboard problem.Immediately power off the printer. Inspect thermistor wiring. Contact support if the issue persists. Do not attempt to operate with this error.
