5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Before powering on, ensure all channel level faders and the main level fader are set to their minimum positions.
  2. Flip the power switch on the rear panel to the ON position.
  3. To power off, reverse the process: lower all faders, then switch off the unit.

5.2 Adjusting Input Levels (GAIN)

The GAIN control adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel. Set it so that the PEAK LED on the channel briefly flashes during the loudest parts of the signal, then back it off slightly to prevent clipping.

5.3 Using Phantom Power (+48V)

Press the +48V PHANTOM button to supply power to condenser microphones. Ensure the microphone is connected before activating phantom power. Do not activate phantom power for dynamic microphones unless specifically required by the microphone's specifications.

5.4 Equalization (EQ)

Use the HIGH, MID, and LOW knobs on each channel to shape the tone of your audio. Adjust these to enhance clarity, reduce unwanted frequencies, or achieve a desired sound.

5.5 Applying Effects (FX/DSP)

The mixer includes built-in digital effects. Use the FX/SEND knob on each channel to send a portion of that channel's signal to the effects processor. Adjust the DELAY and REPEAT knobs in the master effects section to control the characteristics of the effect.

5.6 USB Playback and Recording

  • Playback: Insert a USB flash drive with MP3 files into the USB port. Use the transport controls (play/pause, skip) and the LCD display to navigate and play tracks.
  • Recording: Connect the mixer to a computer via the USB port. The mixer will be recognized as an audio interface. Use your preferred digital audio workstation (DAW) software to record the mixed output.

5.7 Bluetooth Connectivity

  1. Activate Bluetooth on your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
  2. On the mixer, select the Bluetooth input mode (usually indicated on the digital display).
  3. Search for available devices on your external device and select "SOKC F4" or a similar name.
  4. Once paired, audio from your device will play through the mixer. Adjust the USB/Bluetooth level control on the mixer.

5.8 Monitoring

Use the PHONE output with headphones to monitor your mix without affecting the main output. Adjust the PHONE level knob to control headphone volume.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation around the mixer to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Power Cord: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, replace it immediately with an approved cord.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the mixer and the power outlet. Ensure the power switch is ON.
  • No Sound Output: Verify that all input sources are connected correctly and their GAIN controls are adjusted. Check channel level faders and the MAIN level fader. Ensure output cables are connected to active speakers or an amplifier.
  • Distorted Sound: Reduce the GAIN control for the input channel. Ensure the PEAK LED is not constantly lit. Check that the main output level is not too high, causing clipping in connected speakers/amplifier.
  • Microphone Not Working (Condenser Mic): Ensure +48V Phantom Power is activated. Check microphone cable connections.
  • Bluetooth Connection Issues: Ensure the mixer is in Bluetooth mode and your device's Bluetooth is enabled and searching. Try unpairing and re-pairing the device.
  • USB Playback/Recording Issues: Ensure the USB flash drive is formatted correctly (FAT32) and contains compatible audio files (MP3). For computer recording, verify the mixer is selected as the audio input device in your DAW settings.
