2. Important Safeguards

4. Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the coffee maker.
- Clean Components: Wash the carafe and brew basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are dishwasher safe.
- Position: Place the coffee maker on a dry, level surface.
- Initial Cleaning Cycle: Before first use, fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with clean water. Place an empty filter in the brew basket. Run a full brew cycle without coffee grounds to clean the internal components. Discard the water.
5. Operating Instructions
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the FrontFill water reservoir. Using the carafe, fill with desired amount of fresh, cold water. The water level window on the side indicates cup markings. Close the reservoir.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Swing out the brew basket. Place a paper filter (#2 cone filter) or a reusable filter (not included) into the brew basket. Add desired amount of ground coffee. Close the brew basket.
- Place Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe is placed securely on the heating plate.
- Select Brew Strength (Optional): Use the 'OPTION' button on the control panel to select between Regular or Bold brew strength.
- Set Programmable Timer (Optional): To program a delayed brew, press the 'PROG' button. Use the 'HR' and 'MIN' buttons to set your desired brew time. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.
- Start Brewing: Press the 'BREW' button to start the brewing process immediately. The indicator light will illuminate.

6. Auto Pause & Pour
The Auto Pause & Pour feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will automatically stop when the carafe is removed and resume once it is returned to the heating plate. Ensure the carafe is returned within 20 seconds to prevent overflow from the brew basket.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard used coffee grounds and filter. Wash the carafe and brew basket in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher. The carafe and brew basket are dishwasher safe.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Descaling: Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect performance. To descale, fill the water reservoir with 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Run a brew cycle. After the cycle, run 2-3 cycles with clean water to rinse thoroughly. Perform descaling every 1-3 months depending on water hardness.
