Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the kettle and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with water to the MAX line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residue.
  3. Placement: Place the power base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure the kettle is not near the edge of the counter to prevent accidental spills.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Filling the Kettle:
The KG516B features ProntoFill Technology. You can fill the kettle by pouring water directly through the lid opening without needing to remove the lid. Alternatively, you can open the lid and fill the kettle. Fill with at least 0.5L (MIN) and no more than 1.5L (MAX) of water. Do not overfill.
  2. Placing on Power Base:
Place the kettle securely onto its 360° rotary power base.
  3. Starting the Boiling Process:
Press the ON/OFF switch located on the handle downwards. The blue LED indicator lights will illuminate, indicating that the kettle is heating the water.
  4. Automatic Shut-Off:
Once the water reaches a rolling boil, the kettle will automatically shut off, and the blue LED lights will extinguish.
  5. Pouring:
Carefully lift the kettle from its base using the cool-touch handle and pour the hot water. Exercise caution as the glass body will be hot.
  6. Boil-Dry Protection:
The kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection. If the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or with insufficient water, it will automatically shut off to prevent damage. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool down before refilling with water and restarting.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your kettle.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. The kettle body should be hand washed only. Do not immerse the power base or cord in water. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar, or use a commercial descaling solution. Bring to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  • Filter Cleaning: The stainless steel filter can be removed for cleaning. Rinse it under running water and gently brush away any deposits. Ensure it is properly reinserted before use.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a clean, dry place. The cord can be wrapped around the cord storage area under the power base.
