3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Cisco IP Phone:

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone unit.

  2. Connect to Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch or router to the "SW" (Switch) port on the back of the IP phone. If your network supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone will power on automatically.
  3. Connect Power (if no PoE): If PoE is not available, connect the power adapter (if included) to the "PWR" port on the back of the phone and then plug it into a power outlet.
  4. Initial Boot-up: The phone will power on and begin its boot-up sequence. This may take a few minutes as it connects to the network and registers with your call manager system.
