Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KRUPS GX550850 grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Grinder does not start:
- Ensure the grinder is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Check that the grounds container is correctly inserted and the bean hopper lid is securely closed. The grinder has safety interlocks that prevent operation if parts are not correctly assembled.
- Inconsistent grind:
- Clean the burrs thoroughly. Old coffee grounds can accumulate and affect grind consistency.
- Ensure you are using fresh, whole coffee beans. Stale or oily beans can impact grinding performance.
- Coffee grounds spilling or making a mess:
- Ensure the grounds container is fully inserted and properly aligned before starting the grinder.
- Do not overfill the bean hopper.
- Check for any blockages in the grinding chute and clean if necessary.
- Grinder stops unexpectedly:
- The grinder has an auto-stop function based on the selected cup quantity. This is normal operation.
- If it stops before the cycle is complete, check for blockages or ensure the bean hopper is not empty.
