Installation

The Maxx Air CX1500 is designed for easy installation in existing gable vents. No roof modifications are required. Ensure the installation location provides adequate intake and exhaust ventilation for optimal performance.

Tools and Materials Required:

  • Drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Wire strippers
  • Pliers
  • Safety glasses and gloves
  • Appropriate mounting hardware (screws, washers, etc.)

Installation Steps:

  1. Power Disconnection: Before starting any work, ensure the power supply to the attic area is completely disconnected at the circuit breaker.
  2. Prepare Gable Vent Opening: The fan is designed to fit behind an existing gable vent. Ensure the opening is clear and appropriately sized for the fan. The fan's dimensions are 15"W x 15"H.
  3. Mount the Fan: Position the fan within the gable opening. Use the provided mounting brackets to secure the fan to the framing or a sturdy plywood backing. Ensure the fan is level and stable.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect the fan's electrical wiring to a dedicated 115-volt, 60-Hz circuit. All wiring must comply with local electrical codes. The fan includes a junction box for connections.
  5. Thermostat Placement: The adjustable thermostat should be positioned in a location that accurately reflects the attic temperature, away from direct sunlight or drafts.
  6. Secure Wiring: Route and secure all wiring to prevent accidental damage or contact with moving parts.
  7. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power to the circuit.
