Regularly inspect for any signs of rust and treat with appropriate rust-inhibiting paint if necessary.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during harsh weather conditions, store the fire pit indoors or in a covered area to protect it from the elements.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Difficulty starting fire | Wet wood, insufficient kindling, poor airflow. | Use dry, seasoned wood. Ensure adequate kindling. Arrange wood to allow for proper airflow through the log grate and ventilation holes. |
| Excessive smoke | Wet wood, too much fuel, lack of oxygen. | Use dry wood. Do not overload the fire bowl. Ensure ventilation holes are clear. |
| Rust appearing on metal parts | Exposure to moisture, lack of protective cover. | Store in a dry place or use a weather-resistant cover. Clean and apply rust-inhibiting paint if rust is minor. For significant rust, consider replacement of affected parts. |
| Fire pit unstable | Uneven ground, loose assembly bolts. | Ensure the fire pit is placed on a flat, level surface. Check and tighten all assembly bolts. |
