3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Location Requirements
- The water heater can be located almost anywhere in your home, provided it meets local code requirements.
- Ensure adequate clearance for servicing and maintenance.
- Install on a level surface capable of supporting the weight of the water heater when full.
- A drain pan is recommended for floor-mounted units to catch any potential leaks.
3.2. Plumbing Connections
This unit features top entry connections for both hot water outlet and cold water inlet. It includes factory-installed plastic-lined heat trap nipples to improve energy efficiency.
- Connect the cold water supply line to the designated 'Cold Water Inlet' port.
- Connect the hot water distribution line to the 'Hot Water Outlet' port.
- Install a temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve into the designated opening on the top or side of the tank, ensuring it is properly piped to an open drain.
- Use appropriate pipe dope or Teflon tape on all threaded connections to prevent leaks.
3.3. Electrical Connections
The water heater operates on 240 Volts and has a 3000 Watt dual element system. Electrical wiring should be performed by a qualified professional.

- Open the cold water supply valve to the water heater.
- Once water flows steadily from the hot water faucet, the tank is full. Close the faucet.
4.2. Setting Water Temperature
The water heater features dual elements and a conveniently located temperature control. The factory preset temperature is typically 120°F (49°C).
- Access the thermostat control panel (usually behind a removable cover on the side of the tank).
- Adjust the thermostat dial to your desired temperature. Be aware that higher temperatures increase the risk of scalding.
- Replace the cover securely.

5.1. Flushing the Tank
