Calibration Instructions for Basic and Zero Calibration

Figure 4: Detailed instructions for Basic and Zero Calibration.

4.1 Basic Calibration

  1. Prepare the calibration foils and calibration substrate (magnetic and non-magnetic).
  2. Enter the calibration menu and select basic calibration.
  3. Place the calibration foils with corresponding thickness on the substrate according to the instrument display.
  4. When calibration is complete, the bottom of the screen will show "calibration complete".
  5. Magnetic metal substrate calibration and non-magnetic metal substrate calibration do not affect each other.
  6. Note: When the arrow is facing down during basic calibration, press the substrate; when the arrow is facing up, move the substrate away.

4.2 Zero Calibration

  1. Open the menu and select "Calibration/Zero Calibration".
  2. Press the coating meter gently against the substrate.
  3. The coating gauge will automatically calibrate the zero point.
  4. When calibration is complete, the meter automatically returns to the previous screen.
  5. Measurement can be performed after calibration is complete.

5. Operating Modes

The WT230 offers various modes to suit different measurement needs.

Single and Continuous Measurement Modes

Figure 5: Illustration of Single and Continuous Measurement Modes.

5.1 Single Measurement Mode

Suitable for individual measurements. Place the probe on the desired surface, and the device will display a single reading.

5.2 Continuous Measurement Mode

Ideal for measuring along large areas. The device will continuously take readings as the probe is moved across the surface.

5.3 Unit Switching

Easily switch between micrometers (μm) and mils (mils) units using the dedicated button.
