2. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your solar charge controller. Please follow these guidelines carefully.
2.1 Safety Precautions
- Before wiring, ensure that the circuit breaker or fuse is open (disconnected).
- Verify that the positive ("+") and negative ("-") leads are connected correctly to prevent damage.
- Install a fuse on the battery side. The fuse current should be 1.25 to 2 times the rated current of the controller. The fuse should be located no more than 150 mm from the battery.
- If an inverter is part of the system, connect it directly to the battery, not to the load side of the controller.
2.2 Wiring Sequence
Connect the system components in the following order:
- Battery: Connect the battery to the controller.
- Load: Connect the DC load to the controller.
- PV Array: Connect the solar panels (PV array) to the controller.
To disconnect the system, reverse this order: first disconnect the PV array, then the load, and finally the battery.

2.3 Battery Type Selection
The controller supports various battery types. Ensure you select the correct battery type in the controller settings for optimal charging and discharge management. Supported types include:
- Sealed (AGM)
- Gel
- Flooded
- Lead-acid User-defined
- LiFePO4 Lithium
- Li(NiCoMn)O2 Lithium
- Lithium User-defined (9-34V)
3. Operation
The TRIRON 2210N controller features an LCD display and buttons for monitoring and configuration.
3.1 LCD Display and Indicators
The LCD provides real-time information about the system's status, including PV voltage/current, battery voltage/current/state of charge, and load status. Three color-coded indicators show the working status of the PV array, battery, and load.

Figure 5: Examples of information displayed on the LCD screen, such as voltage, current, power, and battery state of charge.
3.2 Buttons
Five buttons allow users to navigate through menus, adjust parameters, and view system data. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific button functions during operation.
3.3 USB Output
The dual 5V DC USB output interfaces can be used to charge compatible electronic devices directly from the controller.
3.4 Communication Modules
The controller supports master and slave RS485 communication modules. These modules enable reading of load or inverter operating data and can control inverter switches via a relay interface. This functionality allows for remote monitoring and control, often through a mobile application or PC software.
