These modules are engineered for high compatibility and stability, utilizing quality chips to ensure reliable performance for your computer system.
3. Compatibility
This memory kit is compatible with a range of systems that support DDR3L SODIMM memory, including select MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini models, and various AMD, Intel, and Mac systems. Before purchasing and installing, it is crucial to verify your computer's memory specifications, including:
- RAM Type: Ensure your system requires DDR3L (PC3L) SODIMM.
- Memory Speed: Confirm support for 1600MHz (PC3L-12800S).
- Maximum RAM Capacity: Check the maximum memory your system can support.
- Available RAM Slots: Verify the number of available slots.
- Voltage: This memory operates at 1.35V and is backward compatible with 1.5V systems that support DDR3L.
Consult your computer's manufacturer documentation or use a system information tool to confirm compatibility.
4. Setup and Installation
Upgrading your system's memory can significantly improve performance. Follow these steps carefully for proper installation:
4.1. Pre-Installation Precautions
- Power Off: Completely shut down your computer and disconnect all power sources (AC adapter, battery).
- Static Electricity: Discharge any static electricity by touching a grounded metal object before handling the memory modules. Consider using an anti-static wrist strap.
- Work Area: Work on a clean, flat, and well-lit surface.
4.2. Locating Memory Slots
Depending on your laptop model, you may need to remove the back panel or a specific access door to reach the memory slots. Refer to your laptop's service manual for exact instructions.

4.3. Removing Existing Memory (If Applicable)
If you are replacing existing memory, gently push the small metal clips on both sides of the SODIMM module outwards. The module will pop up at an angle. You can then carefully pull it out of the slot.
4.4. Installing New Memory Modules
- Hold the new memory module by its edges, avoiding touching the gold contacts.
- Align the notch on the memory module with the key in the memory slot.
- Insert the module into the slot at a 45-degree angle.
- Gently but firmly push the module down until the metal clips on both sides snap into place, securing the module horizontally.

6. Maintenance
Memory modules generally require minimal maintenance. To ensure longevity and optimal performance:
- Keep Clean: Ensure your computer's interior is free from dust and debris, which can affect component cooling and performance.
- Handle Carefully: When handling memory modules, always hold them by the edges to avoid touching the gold contacts or the chips.
- Clean Contacts: If you experience issues, gently wipe the gold connection fingers of the memory module with a clean, soft eraser to remove any oxidation or residue.
- Avoid Physical Damage: Protect the modules from bending, dropping, or excessive force.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after installing the memory, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- System Not Booting/Black Screen:
- Ensure the memory modules are fully seated in their slots. Re-seat them firmly.
- Verify that the memory type (DDR3L) and speed (1600MHz) are compatible with your system.
- Try installing one module at a time to identify if one is faulty.
- Clear the CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) settings on your motherboard (refer to your system's manual for instructions).
- Incorrect RAM Detected:
- Check your system's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the memory is recognized correctly.
- Update your system's BIOS/UEFI to the latest version, as this can improve memory compatibility.
- Ensure the operating system is 64-bit to fully utilize more than 4GB of RAM.
- System Instability/Crashes:
- Run a memory diagnostic tool (e.g., Windows Memory Diagnostic, MemTest86) to check for errors.
- Ensure your system's cooling is adequate to prevent overheating.
If problems persist, contact motoeagle customer support or a qualified technician.
