Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee urn.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the urn from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Disassemble: Remove the lid, brew basket, and percolator stem.
  3. Wash Parts: Wash the lid, brew basket, and percolator stem in warm, soapy water. These removable parts are dishwasher safe.
  4. Clean Urn Body: Wipe the interior and exterior of the urn body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the urn body in water. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner.
  5. Clean Faucet: Ensure the faucet is clean and free of coffee residue. You may need to flush it with clean water.
  6. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits may build up. To descale, fill the urn with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Plug in the urn and allow it to complete a brewing cycle. Unplug, let it cool, then empty and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  7. Storage: Store the clean and dry urn in a safe place.
