Setup Guide

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your JLab Play Gaming Wireless Earbuds. Connect the provided Micro USB charging cable to the charging port on the earbuds and to a USB power source. The indicator light will show charging status.

Rapid Charge Feature: 10 minutes of charging provides over 1 hour of playtime.

2. Bluetooth Pairing (Mobile Devices)

  1. Ensure the earbuds are powered off.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the earbuds for approximately 10 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue. This indicates pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile device (iOS or Android), navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
  4. Select "JLab Play Earbuds" from the list of available devices.
  5. Once connected, the indicator light on the earbuds will turn solid blue.

3. Console Connection (Wired)

For console gaming (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch), use the included 3.5mm AUX console cord.

  1. Locate the 3.5mm audio jack on your gaming console controller or device.
  2. Plug one end of the AUX console cord into the earbuds' 3.5mm port.
  3. Plug the other end of the AUX console cord into your console controller or device.
  4. Ensure the microphone mute switch on the AUX cord is in the 'on' position if you intend to use voice chat.

Operating Instructions

1. Controls

The earbuds feature an in-line remote with buttons for various functions:

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the main button.
  • Play/Pause: Single press the main button.
  • Answer/End Call: Single press the main button during an incoming call.
  • Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold the main button for 2 seconds.
  • Volume Up: Single press the '+' button.
  • Volume Down: Single press the '-' button.
  • Track Forward: Press and hold the '+' button for 2 seconds.
  • Track Backward: Press and hold the '-' button for 2 seconds.
  • Switch Gaming/Music EQ: Press and hold both '+' and '-' buttons for 2 seconds to cycle between Gaming and Music sound modes.

2. Microphone Usage

The earbuds include a built-in microphone for voice communication. When using the AUX console cord, a dedicated mute switch is available on the cord for quick control.

  • Microphone On: Ensure the switch on the AUX console cord is in the 'on' position.
  • Microphone Off (Mute): Slide the switch on the AUX console cord to the 'off' position.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Troubleshooting

1. Earbuds Not Pairing via Bluetooth

  • Ensure the earbuds are fully charged.
  • Confirm the earbuds are in pairing mode (flashing red and blue light).
  • Turn off and on your device's Bluetooth.
  • Forget/delete "JLab Play Earbuds" from your device's Bluetooth list and attempt to re-pair.
  • Move the earbuds closer to your device.

2. No Sound or Low Volume

  • Check the volume levels on both the earbuds and your connected device.
  • Ensure the earbuds are properly connected (Bluetooth or AUX).
  • If using AUX, ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the earbuds and the device.
  • Try switching between Gaming and Music EQ modes.

3. Microphone Not Working

  • If using the AUX console cord, verify the microphone mute switch is in the 'on' position.
  • Ensure your device's microphone settings are configured to use the JLab Play Earbuds.
  • Test the microphone with another application or device.
