Safety Information
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, at least 25 feet away from your home or any enclosed structures, to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Never operate the generator indoors, in a garage, or in any partially enclosed space. Ensure the generator is properly grounded before use to prevent electrical surges.
Setup
Before initial use, ensure the generator is placed on a flat, stable surface. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Add Engine Oil: This generator runs on 10W-30 engine oil. Locate the oil fill cap and dipstick. Use the provided funnel to add the correct amount of oil. Check the oil level using the dipstick to ensure it is within the recommended range.
- Add Fuel: For gasoline operation, open the gas cap and fill the 1.05-gallon tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Ensure the gas cap is securely closed and the vent is in the 'ON' position. For propane operation, connect the provided hose attachment and regulator to the generator's propane nozzle and to your propane tank.
- Ground the Generator: Locate the ground terminal on the control panel. Connect a grounding wire (not included) from the terminal to a suitable ground source to prevent electrical hazards.

Operating Instructions
To start and operate your Champion Inverter Generator, follow these steps:
- Select Fuel Type: Use the multi-function dial on the control panel to select either 'Gasoline' or 'Propane' based on your fuel choice.
- Apply Choke: Move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position. This is typically required for cold starts.
- Start the Engine: Firmly pull the recoil start cord. For gasoline, 1-2 pulls are usually sufficient. For propane, you may need 3-5 pulls to prime the engine.
- Disengage Choke: Once the engine starts and runs smoothly, gradually move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.
- Connect Devices: You can now plug in your electrical devices to the 120V 20A household outlets or the 12V DC automotive-style outlet.
- Economy Mode: For quieter operation and better fuel economy, engage the Economy Mode switch. The generator will adjust engine speed based on the electrical load.
- Parallel Operation: If you have another Champion 2000-watt inverter and an optional parallel kit (sold separately), you can connect them to double your power output.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your generator:
- Oil Changes: Change the engine oil after the first 8 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. To change the oil, remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain completely before refilling with fresh 10W-30 oil.
- Spark Plug Inspection: Periodically inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling. Access the spark plug through the designated port on the generator. Clean or replace as necessary.
