3.2. Rack Installation

  1. Prepare Components: Gather all necessary rack components, including the gear racks, mounting plates, and self-tapping screws.
  2. Align Rack to Pinion: Position the first gear rack against the gate, aligning it with the motor's pinion gear. Ensure a small gap (approximately 1-2mm) between the rack and the pinion to allow for smooth movement.
  3. Mark Installation Points: While holding the rack in place, mark the drilling points on the gate for securing the rack.
  4. Secure Rack: Fix the rack to the gate using the provided self-tapping screws and mounting plates.
  5. Repeat for Remaining Racks: Continue the process for all remaining rack sections, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured along the entire length of the gate.

3.3. Motor Installation

  1. Position Motor: Place the motor unit onto its mounting base, ensuring it is level and securely positioned.
  2. Tighten Bolts: Secure the motor to the base by tightening all bolts.
  3. Verify Smooth Sliding: Unlock the gate opener using the provided key to disengage the motor. Manually move the gate back and forth to ensure it slides smoothly without obstruction.

3.4. Electrical Wiring

  1. Remove Cover: Carefully remove the cover of the electronic control board.
  2. Route Cables: Pass the main power cable and any accessory cables (e.g., for IR sensors) through the designated cable glands.
  3. Make Connections: Connect the wires to the appropriate terminals on the control board as indicated in the wiring diagram (refer to the product manual for a detailed diagram). Ensure all connections are secure.

3.5. Limit Switch Installation

Install the left and right limit switches to define the gate's open and closed positions.

  1. Mount Left Limit Switch: Attach the left limit switch bracket to the gate, ensuring it aligns with the motor's limit switch mechanism when the gate is in its fully open position. Secure it with screws.
  2. Mount Right Limit Switch: Attach the right limit switch bracket to the gate, ensuring it aligns with the motor's limit switch mechanism when the gate is in its fully closed position. Secure it with screws.
  3. Verify Operation: Manually move the gate to its open and closed positions to confirm that the limit switches are correctly engaged and stop the gate at the desired points.

3.6. Infrared Sensor Installation

Install the infrared photocell sensors to enhance safety by detecting obstructions.

  1. Connect Receiver: Connect the receiver sensor's V+ wire to 24V, V- and COM wires to GND, and NC wire to IR on the control board.
  2. Connect Transmitter: Connect the transmitter sensor's V+ wire to 24V and V- wire to GND on the control board.
  3. Intertwine Wires: Intertwine the V+ transmitter wire with the V+ receiver wire, and the V- transmitter wire with the V- receiver wire and COM. Connect all signal wires to the signal terminal and reconnect to the circuit board.
  4. Position Sensors: Mount both the transmitter and receiver sensors at the same height on opposite sides of the gate opening, ensuring they face each other directly.
  5. Test Sensors: Obstruct the path between the sensors. If the alarm light activates and indicator No. 8 on the control board turns off, the IR sensors are correctly configured.
  6. Install Covers: Once confirmed, install the covers for both infrared sensors.

4. Operation

This section describes how to operate your CO-Z Sliding Gate Opener using the remote control and its various functions.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your gate opener.

  • Monthly Inspection: Check the gate and opener for any loose bolts, worn parts, or obstructions. Ensure the gate slides freely.
  • Clean Sensors: Keep the infrared photocell sensors clean and free from dirt, dust, or spiderwebs to ensure proper operation.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the gate's moving parts (e.g., wheels, hinges) as recommended by the gate manufacturer. Do not lubricate the gear rack or pinion.
  • Power Disconnection: Always disconnect power to the unit before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
