Included Components

Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the sensor lid.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 4 D-size batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Wheel Attachment

1. Turn the trash can body upside down.
2. Insert each of the 4 caster wheels into the designated slots on the bottom of the can until they click securely into place.
3. Flip the trash can upright.

3. Odor Filter Installation

1. Locate the odor filter compartment on the underside of the sensor lid.
2. Insert the AbsorbX Odor Filter into the filter gate.
3. Place the filter gate with the filter into the compartment.

4. Trash Bag Installation

1. Place a standard 13-gallon trash bag into the can body.
2. Fit the top edge of the trash bag over the trash bag retainer ring.
3. Lower the retainer ring with the bag into the can, ensuring the bag is fully tucked inside and not visible from the outside.

5. Lid Placement

1. Carefully place the sensor lid onto the trash can body, aligning it properly.
2. Ensure the lid is seated firmly on the can.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

• Locate the power switch on the back of the sensor lid.
• Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the motion sensor.
• Flip the switch to the 'OFF' position to deactivate the motion sensor and keep the lid closed.

2. Motion Sensor Operation

• With the power switch 'ON', wave your hand approximately 6 inches above the infrared motion sensor located on the front of the lid.
• The lid will open automatically.
• The lid will remain open for a few seconds, indicated by LED lights counting down, then close automatically once your hand is no longer detected.

3. Manual Open/Close Buttons

• To keep the lid open for an extended period, press the 'OPEN' button on the lid. The lid will stay open until you press the 'CLOSE' button.
• To close the lid manually, press the 'CLOSE' button.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Can Body

• Wipe the stainless steel body with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the fingerprint-proof finish.
• The plastic bottom of the can features drainage holes, allowing for thorough cleaning with water if needed. Ensure it is completely dry before placing it back on the floor.

2. Cleaning the Sensor Lid

• Wipe the ABS plastic lid with a soft, damp cloth.
• IMPORTANT: Do NOT submerge the sensor lid in water or rinse it under running water. The electronic components are not waterproof and will be damaged.

3. AbsorbX Odor Filter Replacement

• Replace the AbsorbX Odor Filter every 3 months, or sooner if odors persist.
• To replace, open the filter compartment on the underside of the lid, remove the old filter, and insert a new one.

Troubleshooting

• Lid not opening/closing: Check if the power switch is 'ON'. Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Lid opening unexpectedly: Ensure the motion sensor is not obstructed or exposed to direct sunlight or strong artificial light sources. Keep pets or children away from the sensor area. Use the power switch to turn off the sensor if needed.
• Odor persists: Replace the AbsorbX Odor Filter. Ensure the trash bag is properly sealed and the lid is fully closed.
• Can sliding on floor: Verify that the caster wheels are locked, or if not using wheels, ensure the rubber feet on the bottom are clean and intact.
