4. Setup and Installation
Follow these instructions carefully for proper installation of your PZEM-022 digital AC power meter.
4.1 Wiring Diagram
Refer to the diagram below for correct wiring. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.

Figure 3: Detailed wiring diagram for the PZEM-022 meter and CT. The load's L or N line must pass through the CT.
- The wiring does not distinguish between L (Live) and N (Neutral) lines for the meter's power input.
- The CT (Current Transformer) and input voltage connections must be correct. Do not connect the corresponding terminals incorrectly.
- One of the load's power lines (either L or N) must pass through the CT in a single loop.
4.2 Installation Video Guide

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display Interface
The large LCD screen displays the following electrical parameters simultaneously:
- Voltage (V)
- Current (A)
- Active Power (W)
- Energy (Wh)
- Frequency (Hz)
- Power Factor (PF)
5.2 Clearing Energy Data
To clear the accumulated energy data (Wh), follow these steps:
- Press and hold the button on the front of the meter for approximately 5 seconds.
- The energy number (Wh) on the display will start flashing. Release the button.
- Press the button briefly again. The energy data will be cleared, and the flashing state will stop.
- If no button action occurs within 5 seconds after the energy number starts flashing, the data will not be cleared, and the meter will exit the clear state.
This function allows you to reset energy consumption readings for new measurement periods.
5.3 Energy Data Clearing Video Guide
This video demonstrates how to clear the energy data on the PZEM-022 meter.
Video 2: Shows the process of long-pressing the button to initiate energy data clearing and a short press to confirm the reset.
6. Maintenance
The Hilitand PEACEFAIR PZEM-022 meter requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance and longevity:
- Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the meter to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Regularly check wiring connections to ensure they remain secure.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself, as this may void the warranty and pose a safety risk.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PZEM-022 meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display/Power off | No power supply or loose wiring. | Check the input voltage connection. Ensure the meter is receiving power within its operating range (80-260VAC). |
| Incorrect current/power reading | CT not installed correctly or faulty. | Ensure only one load wire passes through the CT. Verify the CT is securely connected to the meter. |
| Overload alarm flashing | Connected load exceeds the set power alarm threshold. | Reduce the load connected to the circuit or adjust the power alarm threshold if necessary. Ensure the load does not exceed the meter's rated power (100A/22000W). |
| Energy data not clearing | Incorrect button press sequence. | Follow the "Clearing Energy Data" instructions precisely (long press until flashing, then short press to confirm). |
If the problem persists, please contact customer support.
