5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

1. Connect the power supply unit to the DC IN port on the rear of the radio (refer to Figure 4.3).
2. Plug the power supply unit into a suitable power outlet.
3. The radio will power on or enter standby mode.

5.2 Antenna

For optimal reception of DAB/DAB+ and FM radio, extend the telescopic antenna fully. If reception is poor, try repositioning the radio or connecting an external flexible antenna (not included) if available.

5.3 Network Connection (WLAN/LAN)

The DIR3200SBT supports both wireless (WLAN) and wired (LAN) network connections for Internet Radio and streaming services.

5.3.1 WLAN (Wi-Fi) Connection

1. Ensure your Wi-Fi router is active and within range.
2. Navigate to the "Settings" menu on the radio.
3. Select "Network" then "WLAN Wizard".
4. The radio will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your network from the list.
5. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the rotary knob and buttons. Confirm the entry.
6. The radio will attempt to connect to the network. A successful connection will be indicated on the display.

5.3.2 LAN (Ethernet) Connection

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the LAN port on the rear of the radio (refer to Figure 4.3).
2. The radio will automatically detect the wired connection and configure network settings via DHCP.

5.4 Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first power-on or after a factory reset, the radio will guide you through an initial setup process. This typically includes:

• Language selection.
• Time and date settings.
• Network configuration (WLAN/LAN).
• DAB/FM scan (if applicable).

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

6. Operating the Radio

6.1 Basic Controls

The radio can be operated using the buttons and rotary knobs on the front panel, or via the included remote control.

• Power Button: Turns the radio on/off or puts it into standby.
• Volume Knob: Rotates to adjust volume. Press to mute/unmute.
• Navigation Knob: Rotates to scroll through menus and lists. Press to select an option (ENTER).
• Preset Buttons (1, 2, 3): Quickly access saved favorite stations.
• Menu Button (M): Access the main menu.
• Back Button: Returns to the previous screen/menu.

6.2 Operating Modes

The Hama DIR3200SBT supports various audio sources:

• Internet Radio: Access thousands of radio stations worldwide via your network connection.
• DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio: Receive digital radio broadcasts with enhanced sound quality.
• FM Radio: Tune into traditional analog FM radio stations.
• Bluetooth: Stream audio wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

6.3 Saving Favorite Stations

You can save your preferred radio stations for quick access:

1. Tune to the desired station.
2. Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1, 2, or 3) until "Preset Saved" appears on the display.
3. To recall a saved station, simply press the corresponding preset button.
4. More favorites can be saved and accessed via the "Favorites" menu.

6.4 Alarm and Timer Functions

The radio includes dual alarm functions, a snooze feature, and a sleep timer.

• Setting Alarms: Access the "Alarm" menu in Settings to configure two independent alarms with customizable source (buzzer, Internet radio, DAB, FM), volume, and recurrence.
• Snooze: When an alarm sounds, press any button (except Power) to activate snooze for a short period.
• Sleep Timer: Set a timer for the radio to automatically turn off after a specified duration.

6.5 Spotify Connect

To use Spotify Connect, you need a Spotify Premium account and an active internet connection.

1. Ensure your radio is connected to the same network as your smartphone or tablet running the Spotify app.
2. Open the Spotify app on your device.
3. Play a song and tap the "Devices Available" icon.
4. Select your Hama DIR3200SBT from the list to stream audio to the radio.

6.6 UNDOK App Control

The UNDOK app allows you to control your radio from your smartphone or tablet. It is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

1. Download and install the "UNDOK" app on your mobile device.
2. Ensure both your radio and mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Open the UNDOK app. It will automatically detect your Hama DIR3200SBT radio.
4. You can now control various functions of the radio, including mode selection, station tuning, volume, and multiroom settings.

6.7 Multiroom Functionality

The DIR3200SBT supports multiroom audio, allowing you to synchronize music playback across multiple compatible devices in different rooms.

To set up multiroom:

1. Ensure all multiroom-compatible devices are connected to the same network.
2. Use the UNDOK app to group devices and manage multiroom playback.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning. Use a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or alcohol-based cleaning agents.
• Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates via the radio's settings menu ("Settings" > "Software Update"). Keeping the software updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.
• Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, disconnect it from the power supply and store it in a cool, dry place.
