Setup
1. Power Options
The trash can can be powered by 4 D-size batteries (not included) or an optional AC Adapter (sold separately). For battery installation, open the battery compartment on the underside of the lid and insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators.
2. AbsorbX Odor Filter Installation
Locate the filter compartment on the underside of the lid. Insert the AbsorbX Odor Filter into the filter housing. This filter helps to absorb and neutralize trash odors.

3. Trash Bag Installation
Place the trash bag into the can body. Secure the trash bag by wrapping the top edge around the retainer ring. Lower the retainer ring with the bag into the can body. Ensure the bag is fully extended to maximize capacity.

Operating Instructions
1. Automatic Sensor Operation
The trash can features a motion sensor that automatically opens the lid when your hand or an object is within 6 inches of the sensor eye. The lid will close automatically after a few seconds of inactivity. For extended open time, wave your hand over the sensor again or press the 'Open' button.

2. PetGuard Lock
To prevent pets from opening the lid, engage the PetGuard lock. This mechanism secures the lid in the closed position. To open, disengage the lock before using the sensor or manual buttons.

3. Manual Open/Close
For manual operation, press the 'Open' button on the lid to open it. Press the 'Close' button to close the lid. The sensor will be temporarily overridden when using manual buttons.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Clean the stainless steel body with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface. For the lid, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the lid in water.

2. AbsorbX Odor Filter Replacement
The AbsorbX Odor Filter should be replaced every three months, or sooner depending on usage and odor levels. Replacement filters are available from iTouchless. You can also sign up for a free text message reminder service to be notified when it's time to replace your filter.
