2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup and Initial Charge
Before first use, it is crucial to fully charge your Battery Tender Jump Starter. This ensures optimal performance and extends battery life.
- Check Battery Level: Press the power button on the unit to check the current charge level indicated by the LED lights. Four lights typically indicate a full charge.
- Connect Charging Cable: Locate the USB input port on the side of the jump starter. Connect the provided USB charging cable to this port.
- Connect to Power Source: Plug the other end of the USB charging cable into a USB wall adapter (not included) or a powered USB port.
- Charge Fully: Allow the unit to charge until all LED indicator lights are solid, indicating a full charge. This may take several hours.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Jump Starting a Vehicle
Follow these steps carefully to safely jump start your vehicle:
- Prepare Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories (lights, radio, AC) are turned off. Engage the parking brake.
- Connect Red Clamp: Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- Connect Black Clamp: Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to a solid, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's engine block or chassis, away from the battery and fuel lines. Do not connect directly to the negative battery terminal unless specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Connect Cables to Unit: Insert the cable connector into the jump start port on the Battery Tender unit. Ensure a secure connection. The indicator light on the cable connector should turn green if the connection is correct.
- Start Vehicle: Once connected, start the vehicle's ignition. If the vehicle does not start immediately, wait 30 seconds before attempting again. Do not crank for more than 5 seconds at a time.
- Disconnect Cables: Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the jump cables from the Battery Tender unit. Then, disconnect the BLACK negative (-) clamp from the vehicle, followed by the RED positive (+) clamp from the battery.
- Recharge Unit: For optimal readiness, recharge the jump starter as soon as possible after each use.

5.2. Charging USB Devices
The Battery Tender Jump Starter can also be used as a portable power bank to charge your electronic devices.
- Connect Device: Plug your device's USB charging cable into the USB output port on the jump starter.
- Begin Charging: The jump starter will automatically begin charging your device. The LED indicators will show the remaining power level of the jump starter.
- Disconnect: Disconnect your device once it is fully charged or when you are finished charging.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your jump starter.
- Regular Recharging: To maintain the internal battery's health, fully recharge the jump starter every 3-6 months, even if it has not been used.
- Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
- Cleaning: Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect the jump cables and clamps for any signs of damage, fraying, or corrosion. Replace if necessary.

7. Troubleshooting
