Important Safety Instructions & Warnings
General Precautions
WARNING
- Save these instructions.
- Read all instructions before using the product.
- Close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children to reduce the risk of injury.
- Do not put fingers or objects into the product.
- Use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
- To reduce damage to the electric plug, pull on the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or appliance. Damaged batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior leading to fire, explosion, or injury.
- Do not operate the jump starter with a damaged cord or plug.
- Do not disassemble the jump starter; only qualified service technicians should service it. Incorrect reassembly may result in fire or electric shock.
- To reduce electric shock risk, unplug the jump starter from the outlet before servicing.
Risk of Explosive Gases
WARNING
Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate explosive gases during normal operation. It is of utmost importance to follow these instructions each time you use the power pack.
- To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by the battery and equipment manufacturers. Review all cautionary markings on these products and on the engine.
Personnel Precautions
- Have someone nearby to assist when working near a lead-acid battery.
- Keep fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin, clothing, or eyes.
- Wear complete eye and clothing protection. Avoid touching eyes while working near the battery.
- If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid enters the eye, flood with cold water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
- NEVER smoke or allow sparks or flames near the battery or engine.
- Be cautious about dropping metal tools onto the battery, which could spark or short-circuit, causing an explosion.
- Remove personal metal items (rings, bracelets, watches) when working with a lead-acid battery, as it can produce a high short-circuit current capable of welding metal and causing severe burns.
General Warnings (Charging/Abuse)
WARNING
- When charging the jump starter's internal battery, work in a well-ventilated area and do not restrict ventilation.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical help. Ejected liquid can cause irritation or burns.
- Do not expose the jump starter to fire or excessive temperature (above 130°C), as this may cause explosion.
- Have servicing performed by a qualified technician using only factory replacement parts.
Cautions
- Do not immerse in water.
- Do not use or store near sources of fire or a heater.
- Do not put into fire or apply direct heat.
- Do not pierce the casing.
- Do not strike, throw, or subject to severe physical shock.
- Do not attempt to modify in any way.
- Do not place in a microwave oven or pressurized container.
- Do not use if it gives off an odor or generates heat.
- Do not insert metal objects into the cable input opening, as this could cause a spark and electric shock.
