- Choose a location on your windshield that does not obstruct your view, typically behind the rearview mirror.
- Clean the chosen area on the windshield thoroughly.
- Attach the windshield mount to the dash cam.
- Remove the protective film from the mount's adhesive pad or suction cup.
- Firmly press the mount onto the cleaned windshield area for at least 30 seconds.
- Adjust the camera angle to ensure the road ahead is clearly visible in the recording frame.
4.3. Power Connection
- Connect the car power adapter to the Micro USB port on the dash cam.
- Plug the other end of the car power adapter into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- Route the power cable neatly along the windshield and dashboard to avoid interference with driving.
- The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
4.4. Initial Settings
Upon first use or after a reset, you may need to configure basic settings:
- Date and Time: Navigate to the 'Date/Time' setting in the menu and adjust accordingly. This is crucial for accurate recording timestamps.
- Language: Select your preferred language from the 'Language' menu.
- Loop Recording: Ensure loop recording is enabled (usually default) to allow continuous recording by overwriting the oldest files when the MicroSD card is full.
- G-Sensor Sensitivity: Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity based on your driving conditions. A higher sensitivity will trigger emergency recording more easily.
5. Operating the Dash Cam
5.1. Automatic Recording
Once powered on, the Neoline G-Tech X74 will automatically begin recording. A flashing indicator (usually a red dot) on the screen confirms recording is active.
5.2. Emergency Recording
The dash cam features two ways to initiate emergency recording:
- G-Sensor Trigger: In the event of a sudden impact or sharp braking, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten.
- Manual Trigger: Press the Emergency Recording/Lock button on the left side of the device to manually save the current recording segment.
5.3. Playback
- Stop recording by pressing the OK button (if currently recording).
- Press the Menu (M) button to enter the main menu.
- Navigate to the 'Playback' or 'File List' option using the Up/Down buttons and press OK.
- Select the desired video file from the list and press OK to play.
- Use the Up/Down buttons to fast forward/rewind during playback.
5.4. Parking Mode (if applicable)
If your dash cam supports parking mode (requires a hardwire kit, sold separately), it will automatically activate when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. It typically records when motion is detected or an impact occurs, conserving battery life and storage space.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning the Device
- Wipe the exterior of the dash cam with a soft, dry cloth.
- For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.
- Do not use liquid cleaners directly on the device.
6.2. MicroSD Card Formatting
It is recommended to format the MicroSD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Formatting will erase all data on the card, so back up important files first.
- Go to the main menu by pressing the M button.
- Navigate to 'Format' or 'SD Card Format' option.
- Confirm the action.
6.3. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the official Neoline website for available firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided on the website carefully when performing an update.
