1. Introduction

The GODOX FV150 is a versatile hybrid lighting unit designed for both continuous LED lighting and high-speed sync flash photography. It combines the functionality of a traditional LED light with advanced flash capabilities, offering strong power, abundant features, and various special effects modes for creative shooting scenarios.

2. Product Features

4. Setup

  1. Mounting the Light: Attach the FV150 unit to a light stand using its U-type bracket. Secure it by tightening the adjustment knob on the bracket.
  2. Connecting Power: Insert the power cord into the AC input port on the back of the unit and plug the other end into a suitable power outlet (AC100-240V, 50/60Hz).
  3. Attaching Modifiers: The FV150 features a Bowens mount. Align your desired light modifier (e.g., standard reflector, softbox, beauty dish) with the mount and twist until it locks securely.
  4. Lamp Cover: Ensure the lamp cover is removed before operation to prevent heat buildup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Locate the ON/OFF switch on the back panel of the unit. Flip the switch to 'ON' to power on the light and to 'OFF' to power it down.

5.2 Mode Selection (LED / Flash)

Press the LED button on the left side of the control panel to switch between continuous LED mode and Flash mode. The current mode will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5.3 Adjusting Brightness / Power

  • In LED Mode: Rotate the DIM knob (SET dial) on the right side of the control panel to adjust the brightness from 0% to 100%.
  • In Flash Mode: Rotate the DIM knob (SET dial) to adjust the flash power output. Options include fractional settings (1/8 to 1/1) or decimal settings (7.0 to 10.0).

5.4 Wireless Control

The FV150 has a built-in Godox 2.4G wireless receiver. To use wireless control:

  1. Press the GR/CH button to select the desired group (A-F, 0-9).
  2. Long press the GR/CH button to enter channel selection mode, then rotate the SET dial to select a channel (1-32).
  3. Ensure your Godox 2.4G wireless trigger (e.g., XPro, X2T) is set to the same group and channel as the FV150.

5.5 Special Effects (FX Modes)

In LED mode, press the FX button on the left side of the control panel to cycle through 8 special effects modes. Rotate the DIM knob to select the desired effect (e.g., Flash1, Storm1, TV, Bad Bulb).

5.6 Flash Sync and Anti-Preflash Function

  • S1 Mode: The flash will trigger synchronously when it receives an external flash.
  • S2 Mode (Anti-Preflash): The flash is triggered synchronously when it receives the second flash, ignoring the pre-flash from another unit.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device dry. Do not handle with wet hands.
  • Clean the equipment regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using solvents or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Protect the LED light source from impact.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Light not powering on: Check if the power cord is securely connected and the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • Flash not firing: Ensure the unit is in Flash mode. Check the wireless trigger settings (group, channel, ID off) and battery. Press the 'TEST' button on the unit to confirm internal flash function.
  • Inconsistent brightness: Verify power settings in both LED and Flash modes. Ensure no external factors are interfering with light output.
  • Overheating: If the unit feels excessively hot, power it off and allow it to cool down. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
