1. Introduction

The Wendry Smart Ring is an innovative wearable device designed to enhance your mobile experience through Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. This ring allows for convenient data exchange, information storage, and secure application management directly from your finger to your NFC-enabled smartphone. It operates without the need for charging, making it a truly universal and always-on smart accessory.

3. Getting Started (Setup)

To begin using your Wendry Smart Ring, ensure your mobile phone has NFC capabilities and that NFC is enabled. The ring does not require charging or pairing in the traditional sense; its functionality relies on proximity to an NFC reader.

3.1 Enabling NFC on Your Smartphone

Most modern smartphones support NFC. To enable it:

1. Navigate to your phone's Settings menu.
2. Look for connection settings such as Connected devices, Bluetooth & device connection, or More connection settings.
3. Locate and toggle on the NFC option. Some phones may also have an option for Android Beam or similar, which should also be enabled for data transfer.

3.2 Initial Ring Interaction

Once NFC is enabled on your phone, you can test the ring's basic functionality by touching it to the NFC detection area of your phone. This area is typically located on the back of the phone, near the camera or in the center. Your phone should react, possibly by vibrating or displaying a prompt, indicating that the NFC chip in the ring has been detected.

4. Using Your Smart Ring (Operation)

The Wendry Smart Ring offers several functionalities through NFC. The specific actions depend on the applications you use and how you configure them.

4.1 Storing and Exchanging Information

The primary function of the smart ring is to store and exchange personal information. This can include contact details, website links, or other small data packets. You will need a compatible NFC application on your smartphone to write data to the ring and read data from it.

4.2 Application Lock/Unlock

One of the key privacy features is the ability to lock and unlock applications on your phone. This requires a specific application that supports NFC-based app locking. Once configured, you can touch your ring to your phone to launch or secure selected applications.

1. Download and install an NFC-compatible application locker from your phone's app store.
2. Within the app, select the applications you wish to lock or unlock using the smart ring.
3. Follow the app's instructions to 'write' the lock/unlock command to your smart ring.
4. To use, simply touch the smart ring to the NFC detection area of your phone. The configured application will then be locked or unlocked.

4.3 Other Tag Applications

The NFC smart ring can be used for various other applications depending on compatible software and infrastructure, including:

• Access control systems (e.g., for doors, public transportation)
• Electronic coupons and tickets

5. Care and Maintenance

The Wendry Smart Ring is designed for durability and ease of use. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure its longevity:

• Waterproof: The ring is depth waterproof, meaning it can withstand immersion in water. However, prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures should be avoided.
• Cleaning: Clean the ring with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or materials that could scratch the surface.
• Storage: Store the ring in a clean, dry place when not in use.
• No Charging Required: As the ring operates without electricity, there is no need for charging or battery replacement.

6. Troubleshooting

• Ring Not Detected:
  • Ensure NFC is enabled on your smartphone (refer to Section 3.1).
  • Verify the ring is placed correctly over the NFC detection area of your phone. This area varies by phone model but is often near the top or center of the back.
  • Remove any thick phone cases that might interfere with the NFC signal.
  • Restart your smartphone.
• Application Lock/Unlock Not Working:
  • Confirm that the NFC application locker is correctly installed and configured.
  • Ensure the specific lock/unlock command has been successfully written to the ring using the app.
  • Check the app's permissions to ensure it has access to control other applications.
• Data Transfer Issues:
  • Ensure the receiving device also has NFC enabled and is ready to receive data.
  • Confirm the data type being transferred is supported by both the ring's capacity and the receiving application.
