Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your FocalTop replacement TV remote control. This remote is designed to be compatible with various HANNSPREE TV models, offering a direct replacement experience without complex programming.

Setup

The FocalTop replacement remote control is designed for immediate use with compatible HANNSPREE TV models. No programming or pairing is required.

Installing Batteries

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or in the direction indicated by an arrow to open it.
3. Insert two (2) AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into position until it clicks securely.

Note: Batteries are not included with the remote control.

Operating the Remote Control

Once batteries are installed, the remote is ready to operate your compatible HANNSPREE TV. Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote's infrared emitter and the TV's IR receiver.

Basic Functions

• Power Button: Turns the TV on or off.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select channels.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can damage the remote. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Remote Not Responding

• Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-). Replace old batteries with new AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries.
• Line of Sight: Make sure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor. Point the remote directly at the TV.
• Distance: Ensure you are within the effective operating range of the remote control (typically up to 20 feet or 6 meters).
• TV Compatibility: Verify that your HANNSPREE TV model is listed as compatible with this remote control.

Intermittent Operation

• Weak Batteries: Replace batteries even if the remote works intermittently, as low power can cause inconsistent performance.
• Interference: Ensure no strong light sources (like direct sunlight or fluorescent lights) are interfering with the remote's infrared signal.
