Product Overview
The Orient Ray II is a robust diver's watch designed for reliability and precision. It features a self-winding mechanical movement, meaning it is powered by the motion of your wrist. It also supports manual winding for initial power reserve or if the watch has stopped. Key features include a unidirectional rotating bezel, a day/date display, and a durable stainless steel construction.

Setup
Initial Winding
If the watch has stopped, it needs to be wound manually to start the movement and build up a power reserve. Unscrew the crown (turn counter-clockwise) to the first position. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power for the watch to operate. The watch will then continue to wind itself through the motion of your wrist during wear.
Setting Time and Date
- Unscrew the Crown: Gently unscrew the crown by turning it counter-clockwise until it is free from the case.
- Set the Date: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this period, set the time outside this range first, then adjust the date.
- Set the Day: Push the crown back in slightly and then pull it out to the first click position again. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.
- Set the Time: Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate time setting, synchronize with a reliable time source.
- Secure the Crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the normal position and screw it down tightly (turn clockwise) against the watch case. This is crucial for maintaining the watch's water resistance.

Adjusting the Bracelet
The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. This procedure typically requires specialized tools and should ideally be performed by a qualified watchmaker or jeweler to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch. Ensure the clasp closes securely after adjustment.

Operating Instructions
Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The bezel rotates in one direction (counter-clockwise) to prevent accidental extension of dive time. To use, align the triangle marker on the bezel with the minute hand at the start of your dive. The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time against the bezel's markings. This feature is useful for timing events up to 60 minutes.
Water Resistance (200 Meters)
Your Orient Ray II watch is water-resistant to 200 meters (20 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean your watch with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel case and bracelet, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by thorough drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the finish.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements.
Service
For optimal performance, it is recommended to have your automatic watch serviced by a professional watchmaker every 3-5 years. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement, as well as checking seals for water resistance.
Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped: Manually wind the watch by unscrewing the crown and rotating it clockwise 30-40 times. Ensure you wear the watch regularly for sufficient automatic winding.
- Inaccurate time: Ensure the watch is fully wound. If inaccuracy persists, it may require professional adjustment or service. Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields.
- Date/Day not changing: Check if the time is set correctly (AM/PM). The day/date mechanism typically changes around midnight. If the issue persists, consult a professional.
