3. Setup

3.1 Power Supply

The clock can be powered by either a USB cable or AAA batteries.

  • USB Power: For continuous display and optimal performance, connect the provided USB cable to a 5V DC adapter (not included) or a USB port.
  • Battery Power: For portable use or as a backup, install 4 AAA batteries (not included). Note that battery power is primarily for the sound control mode to conserve energy, as continuous display will drain batteries quickly.

3.2 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert 4 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

3.3 Button Identification

The control buttons are located on the back of the clock:

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Settings (Time, Date, Temperature Unit)

  1. Press the SET button once to enter the setting mode. The display will flash.
  2. Use UP or DOWN to adjust the value. Press SET to confirm and move to the next setting.
  3. The sequence is typically: Year → Month → Day → 12/24H Format → Hour → Minute → Temperature Unit (Celsius/Fahrenheit).
  4. After setting the temperature unit, press SET again to exit the setting mode.

4.2 Alarm Settings

The clock supports up to three independent alarms (A1, A2, A3).

  1. From normal display mode, press SET repeatedly until 'A1' (or 'A2', 'A3') appears.
  2. Press and hold SET to enter the alarm setting mode. The alarm hour will flash.
  3. Use UP or DOWN to set the desired alarm hour, then press SET.
  4. Use UP or DOWN to set the desired alarm minute, then press SET.
  5. The display will show 'ON' or '--' (OFF). Use UP or DOWN to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the alarm, then press SET to confirm.
  6. Repeat for A2 and A3 if needed.

4.3 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press any button (except RESET) to activate the snooze function. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after a few minutes (default snooze duration is typically 5 minutes, refer to specific product documentation if available for exact duration). To turn off the alarm completely, press the RESET button or let it ring for its full duration.

4.4 Display Modes (DP-1, DP-2)

The clock offers different display modes:

  • DP-1 (Fixed Display): The display shows time continuously.
  • DP-2 (Alternating Display): The display cycles between time, date, and temperature.

To switch between DP-1 and DP-2, press the UP button in normal display mode.

4.5 Sound Control Mode (Energy-saving)

In sound control mode, the display will turn off after a short period to save energy. It will reactivate when a sound (e.g., clap, tap) or touch is detected.

  • To enable/disable sound control, press the DOWN button in normal display mode.
  • When sound control is active, the display will show 'SD' (Sound Detect) or similar indicator. When disabled, it may show '--' or remain continuously on (if powered by USB).

4.6 Brightness Adjustment

The display has three brightness levels (L1, L2, L3).

  1. Press and hold the UP button in normal display mode.
  2. The display will show the current brightness level (e.g., 'L3').
  3. Use UP or DOWN to cycle through L1 (lowest), L2 (medium), and L3 (highest).
  4. Release the UP button to confirm your selection.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the clock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 4 AAA batteries simultaneously when the display dims or functions become erratic. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Placement: Place the clock on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Display is off or not staying on:
        a. Check if the clock is in Sound Control (SD) mode. Press the DOWN button to toggle this mode. If you desire a continuous display, ensure SD mode is off and the clock is powered via USB.
        b. If using batteries, they might be low. Replace with fresh AAA batteries.
  • Difficulty setting time/alarms:
        a. Ensure you are pressing and holding the SET button to enter the setting mode, and pressing it briefly to confirm each step.

  • Clock resets after power failure:
        a. Ensure backup AAA batteries are installed and have sufficient charge. The batteries provide power memory during USB power interruptions.
  • Display is too bright or too dim:

        a. Check power source. Ensure USB cable is securely connected or batteries are correctly installed and charged.
