Operating Instructions

Once preheated, your RCA Portable Steam Iron is ready for use:

  • Wrinkle Removal: Hold the steam iron vertically, about 1-2 inches away from the fabric. Move the iron slowly over the wrinkled area, allowing the constant steam (100°C to 140°C) to penetrate and relax the fibers.
  • Odor Elimination & Disinfection: The powerful steam not only removes wrinkles but also helps to eliminate odors and disinfect fabrics. Pass the steamer over the garment as you would for wrinkle removal.
  • Using Attachments:
    • Lint Brush: Ideal for removing lint, pet hair, and debris from items like blankets, sheets, curtains, shirts, blouses, and pants.
    • Electrostatic Brush: Use this brush to eliminate static cling and smooth out fabrics such as shirts, blouses, dresses, t-shirts, and pants.
  • Fabric Compatibility: This steam iron is suitable for various fabric types including silk, polyester, viscose, velvet, and gauze. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your steam iron:

  • Cleaning: The steam iron is designed for easy cleaning. After each use, ensure the device is unplugged and cooled down. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
  • Water Tank Care: Always empty any remaining water from the tank after use to prevent mineral buildup and keep the tank clean. The water tank is not removable for cleaning.
  • Preventing Leaks: To minimize water spitting or leaking, avoid overfilling the water tank. Ensure the iron is fully preheated before use and do not hold it at extreme angles that might cause water to escape.
