Setup & Installation

The key cabinet is designed for easy wall-mounted installation. Follow these steps to securely mount your cabinet:

  1. Choose a Location: Select a suitable wall location that is secure and easily accessible.
  2. Mark Drill Points: Hold the cabinet against the wall at the desired height and use a pencil to mark the positions of the pre-drilled mounting holes on the back of the cabinet.
  3. Drill Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type (e.g., masonry bit for concrete, wood bit for studs), drill holes at the marked positions.
  4. Insert Wall Anchors: If installing into drywall or masonry, insert the provided wall anchors into the drilled holes.
  5. Mount the Cabinet: Align the cabinet's mounting holes with the drilled holes (and anchors). Insert the provided screws and tighten them until the cabinet is securely fastened to the wall. Ensure the cabinet is stable and does not wobble.

Operating Instructions

Setting Your Combination Code:

The factory default code is "0-0-0". To set your personal 3-digit code:

  1. Open the Lock Box: Ensure the lock is set to the default code "0-0-0". Twist the knob to the "unlock" position to open the door.
  2. Locate Reset Lever: Inside the open door, find the small lever on the back of the combination lock mechanism.
  3. Move Reset Lever: Use your fingers to move the lock slot from position A to the side, then up to position B. Do not move it directly from A to B, as it may get stuck.
  4. Set Your New Code: While the lever is in position B, roll the dials on the front of the lock to your desired 3-digit code (e.g., "3-2-1"). Make sure all numbers are centered in the dial.
  5. Return Reset Lever: Move the lock slot back from position B to position A to complete the code setting.
  6. Test Your New Code: Close the door, scramble the dials, then enter your new code and twist the knob to ensure it opens correctly.

Note: After setting your own password, "0-0-0" is no longer the default code. Please do not forget your code, otherwise, it may take considerable time to find it.

Key Management

The KYODOLED key cabinet is designed to keep your keys organized and easily identifiable.

  2. Label Key Tags: Write down relevant information (e.g., room number, vehicle, owner) on the identification tags and corresponding labels.
  3. Hang Keys: Hang the key tags on the designated hooks inside the cabinet. The numbered system helps maintain order.
  4. Use 'Out Key' Tags: Utilize the 'out key' tags to mark when a key has been removed, helping you track key usage.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Hinge Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of lubricant to the door hinges to ensure smooth operation.
  • Lock Mechanism: Keep the combination lock mechanism clean and free of dust or debris. Do not force the dials if they are stiff.

Troubleshooting

Forgotten Combination Code:

If you forget your combination code, you will need to reset it. Follow the "Setting Your Combination Code" instructions in the Operating Instructions section. You will need to know the current code (even if forgotten, you might need to try combinations or consult with the manufacturer for advanced reset procedures if the internal reset lever is inaccessible without the code).

Difficulty Opening/Closing:

  • Ensure the combination dials are perfectly aligned with your code.
  • Check for any obstructions around the door or hinges.
  • If the door is stiff, apply a small amount of lubricant to the hinges.
