Setup: Installation Instructions
The SMARTSTANDARD barn door hardware kit is designed for easy installation. Professional instruction and customer service are available to assist with any installation problems. Follow these steps carefully for optimal results.
Step 1: Prepare the Wall and Door
- Identify the location for your barn door track. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of clearance above the top of your door for the track and rollers.
- Locate wall studs (typically 16 inches apart) to ensure secure mounting. The kit is designed for 16-inch stud spacing.
- Ensure your door panels meet the specified dimensions: 27 inches wide and 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" thick.

Step 3: Attach Rollers and Door Stops to Doors

Step 4: Install Floor Guides

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and continued smooth operation of your barn door hardware, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the track and rollers with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Lubrication: While the nylon rollers are designed for long-term smooth operation, applying a silicone-based lubricant to the track and roller bearings every 6-12 months can further enhance performance and quietness.
- Hardware Check: Annually inspect all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten any loose components to prevent sagging or misalignment.
- Door Condition: Check your barn door panels for any warping or damage that might affect their movement. Address any issues promptly.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your SMARTSTANDARD barn door hardware, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
