5. Operation
5.1 Pre-Operation Checks
- Verify all pole connections are secure.
- Check chain tension and adjust if necessary.
- Ensure the chain oil reservoir is full. The automatic lubrication system requires oil for proper function.
- Inspect the chain for sharpness and damage.
- Wear all required PPE.
5.2 Starting and Stopping
- To start: Press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop: Release the trigger switch. The electric brake will quickly stop the chain.
- The variable speed feature allows you to control the chain speed by adjusting the pressure on the trigger.
- Engage Eco Mode for lighter tasks to conserve battery life.
5.3 Cutting Techniques
- Planning cuts: Always plan your cuts to ensure the branch falls safely and does not cause injury or damage.
- Undercutting: For larger branches, make a small undercut on the underside of the branch first to prevent bark stripping.
- Top cut: Make the main cut from the top, slightly further out from the undercut.
- Final cut: Remove the stub with a final clean cut close to the main trunk or collar.
- Maintain control: Let the saw do the work. Do not force the tool.
- Working overhead: Use the shoulder harness to distribute weight and maintain control. Keep the tool at a comfortable angle.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your pole pruner.
6.1 Cleaning
- Always remove the battery before cleaning.
- Clean the tool after each use. Remove sawdust, debris, and sap from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Use a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use solvents that could damage plastic parts.
6.2 Chain Maintenance
- Chain Tension: Check chain tension frequently during operation and adjust as needed. A properly tensioned chain should be snug but still able to be pulled around the guide bar by hand.
- Chain Lubrication: Regularly check the chain oil level and refill as necessary. The automatic oiler requires a constant supply of chain lubricant.
- Chain Sharpening/Replacement: A dull chain will not cut efficiently and can cause kickback. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when worn or damaged. Refer to a qualified service technician for chain sharpening if unsure.
6.3 Storage
- Remove the battery pack before storing.
- Clean the tool thoroughly.
- Apply a light coat of oil to the chain and guide bar to prevent rust.
- Store the tool in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
- Use the blade guard to protect the chain during storage.
