Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The Blink Indoor camera is designed for up to two years of battery life under typical usage. When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification in the Blink app. Replace batteries with two new 1.5V AA lithium metal (non-rechargeable) batteries. Do not use alkaline or rechargeable batteries, as they may affect performance and battery life.

Cleaning Your Camera

To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and body. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera.

Software Updates

Blink cameras receive automatic software security updates. Ensure your Sync Module 2 is connected to the internet to receive these updates, which improve performance and add new features.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Blink Indoor camera system, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Camera Not Connecting: Ensure your Sync Module 2 is powered on and connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Check the distance between the camera and the Sync Module; reduce interference from other electronic devices.
  • Poor Video Quality: Verify that the camera lens is clean. Ensure adequate lighting, especially for night vision. Check your Wi-Fi signal strength in the camera's location.
  • Motion Detection Issues: Adjust the motion sensitivity settings in the Blink app. Ensure activity zones are correctly configured. Check for obstructions in the camera's field of view.
  • Short Battery Life: Excessive Live View usage, frequent motion alerts, or poor Wi-Fi signal can reduce battery life. Review your camera settings in the app. Ensure you are using recommended AA lithium metal batteries.
  • Two-Way Audio Problems: Check your device's volume settings. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the camera's microphone or speaker.
