4. Setup & Installation
Important: Turn off power to your heating and cooling system at the main fuse or circuit breaker box before beginning installation to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage.
4.1 Removing Your Old Thermostat
- Turn off the power to your heating and cooling system at the main fuse or circuit breaker box.
- Remove the cover of your old thermostat.
- Take a picture of the wiring connections for reference. Label each wire with the terminal designation (e.g., R, C, Y, W, G).
- Disconnect the wires and remove the old thermostat's mounting plate.
4.2 Mounting the New Thermostat
- Separate the front and back plates of the Suuwer S715 thermostat.
- Position the back plate against the wall where the old thermostat was. Use the included screws and anchors to secure it. Ensure it is level.
4.3 Wiring Diagrams
Connect the labeled wires from your wall to the corresponding terminals on the Suuwer S715 back plate. Refer to the specific wiring diagram that matches your HVAC system type. If your system is hardwired with 24VAC, ensure the common and RC terminals are connected.

4.4 Completing Installation
- Once wiring is complete, carefully attach the front of the thermostat to the back plate, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
- Restore power to your heating and cooling system at the main fuse or circuit breaker box.
- The thermostat display should now illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display and Controls
The Suuwer S715 features a large, easy-to-read digital display and intuitive buttons for control. The display shows the current room temperature, set temperature, time, day, and system status.

Figure 5.1: Overview of the thermostat's display and control buttons.
5.2 Setting Time and Day
Use the 'Set Time' button to adjust the current time and day of the week. Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle through hours, minutes, and days, using the up/down arrows to change values.
5.3 Programming (5-1-1 Day Schedule)
The 5-1-1 day programming allows you to set different schedules for weekdays (Monday-Friday), Saturday, and Sunday. Each day can have up to four program periods: Wake, Leave, Return, and Sleep.

Figure 5.2: Visual representation of the 5-1-1 day programming schedule.
- Press the 'Set Sched' button to enter programming mode.
- Use the 'Menu' or 'Next Step' buttons to navigate between program periods (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep) and days (Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun).
- Use the up/down arrows to adjust the start time and desired temperature for each period.
- Press 'Run' or 'Exit' to save your settings and exit programming mode.
5.4 Non-Programmable Mode (Hold Function)
To temporarily or permanently override the programmed schedule, use the 'Hold' function. This allows you to maintain a desired temperature until you manually change it or cancel the hold.

Figure 5.3: Using the 'Hold' button for non-programmable operation.
- Adjust the temperature using the up/down arrows to your desired setting.
- Press the 'Hold' button. The thermostat will now maintain this temperature until 'Hold' is pressed again to resume the schedule.
5.5 Adjusting Temperature Swing (Differential)
The temperature swing, or differential, determines how much the temperature can vary from your setpoint before the system activates. A smaller swing results in more frequent, shorter cycles, while a larger swing results in fewer, longer cycles.

Figure 5.4: Adjusting the temperature swing setting.
The swing is adjustable from 0.2°F to 2°F, with a factory default of 0.5°F for heating or cooling. Consult the full installation manual for detailed steps on adjusting this setting.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
The thermostat is dual-powered by 24VAC or 2 AAA batteries. If using batteries, the thermostat has a built-in battery change reminder. When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 2 AAA alkaline batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Figure 6.1: Easy access battery compartment for 2 AAA batteries (not supplied).
6.2 Filter Change Reminder
The thermostat includes a filter change reminder, which can be set from 50 to 2000 hours. When the reminder activates, it indicates that your HVAC system's air filter may need to be checked or replaced. Regular filter changes are essential for system efficiency and air quality.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Suuwer S715 thermostat, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Display/Power: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. If wired, ensure the 24VAC power supply is active and connections are secure.
- System Not Responding: Verify that the system switch (Cool/Off/Heat) is in the correct position. Check wiring connections for looseness or incorrect placement. Ensure your system is compatible (refer to Section 3).
- Incorrect Temperature Reading: Allow the thermostat to acclimate to the room temperature for at least 15 minutes after installation. Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources. The room temperature calibration can be adjusted if needed (refer to the full installation manual).
- Programming Issues: Double-check your programmed schedule for correct times and temperatures. Ensure the 'Hold' function is not active if you intend for the schedule to run.
- Frequent Cycling: Adjust the temperature swing setting (differential) to a slightly larger value (refer to Section 5.5).
