Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install or replace your Neo-Pure NP-KW1 filter cartridge:

1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the main water supply valve to your filtration system and turn it off.
2. Release Pressure: Open a nearby faucet to release any pressure in the system.
3. Remove Old Filter: Unscrew the filter housing sump. Carefully remove the old filter cartridge. Dispose of the old cartridge according to local regulations.
4. Clean Housing: Clean the inside of the filter housing sump with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Inspect the O-rings for any damage or wear; replace if necessary. Lubricate O-rings with a food-grade silicone grease if needed.
5. Insert New Filter: Unwrap the new Neo-Pure NP-KW1 filter cartridge. Insert the new cartridge into the filter housing sump, ensuring it is properly seated. The filter has a unique dual ring design for a secure fit.

6. Reassemble Housing: Screw the filter housing sump back onto the cap. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
7. Restore Water Supply: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Check for leaks around the filter housing.
8. Flush Filter: Open a cold water faucet and allow water to run for 5-10 minutes to flush out any carbon fines and air from the system. The water may appear cloudy initially; this is normal.

Operating

Once installed, the Neo-Pure NP-KW1 filter operates continuously as water flows through your under-sink system. The carbon block media actively filters out impurities, providing cleaner, better-tasting water. No special operational steps are required beyond regular use of your water system.

Maintenance

Regular replacement of your filter cartridge is essential to maintain optimal water quality and system performance.

• Replacement Interval: Replace the Neo-Pure NP-KW1 filter cartridge every 6 to 12 months, or according to your system manufacturer's recommendations, or based on local water conditions and usage.
• Signs of Replacement: A noticeable decrease in water flow or a return of unpleasant tastes and odors indicates that the filter cartridge is nearing the end of its service life and should be replaced.

Troubleshooting

• Low Water Flow: If water flow is significantly reduced, the filter may be clogged. This indicates it's time for a replacement. Ensure the filter is installed correctly and not cross-threaded.
• Leaks: If leaks occur after installation, turn off the water supply immediately. Check that the filter housing is securely tightened and that the O-rings are properly seated and not damaged.
• Cloudy Water After Installation: This is normal and is due to carbon fines being flushed out. Continue flushing the filter for several minutes until the water runs clear.
