Operating Instructions
- Turn on Water: Slowly turn on the water supply to the garden hose.
- Adjust Water Pressure: Adjust the water pressure at the faucet to achieve the desired spray distance and pattern. The sprinkler is designed to operate effectively within typical residential water pressures.
- Monitor Coverage: Observe the watering pattern to ensure adequate coverage of your desired area.
Adjustments
The brass impact sprinkler head allows for adjustments to both the spray pattern and distance:
- Spray Distance: The sprinkler can reach up to 100 feet in diameter. Adjust the diffuser screw on the sprinkler head to change the water stream's break-up and thus the spray distance. Tightening the screw will shorten the distance, while loosening it will increase it.
- Spray Pattern (Partial to Full Circle): The sprinkler can be set for a partial or full 360-degree circle. Adjust the trip collars on the base of the sprinkler head to set the desired arc. For continuous 360-degree rotation, lift the trip lever.
- Tripod Height: The tripod base can be adjusted from 25 inches to 48 inches in height to accommodate different watering needs and plant heights. Loosen the leg clamps, adjust the height, and re-tighten securely.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically check the sprinkler nozzle for debris or mineral buildup. Clean with a small brush or needle if necessary to maintain optimal spray performance.
- Winterization: Before freezing temperatures, disconnect the sprinkler from the hose and drain all water from the unit. Store the sprinkler in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing.
- Storage: When not in use, store the sprinkler in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sprinkler not rotating | Low water pressure, debris in head, trip collars set incorrectly. | Increase water pressure, clean nozzle, adjust trip collars for full circle or desired arc. |
| Uneven spray pattern | Clogged nozzle, damaged diffuser. | Clean nozzle, inspect diffuser for damage. |
| Water leaking from connections | Loose connections, worn washer. | Tighten hose connections, replace rubber washer if damaged. |
| Limited spray distance | Low water pressure, diffuser screw too tight. | Increase water pressure, loosen diffuser screw. |
