Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash all parts (upper pot, lower pot, filter basket) with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Assembly:
    • Unscrew the upper pot from the lower pot.
    • Remove the filter basket from the lower pot.
  4. First Brew (Conditioning): It is recommended to perform a few brewing cycles with water only (or discard the first few coffee brews) to season the coffee maker and remove any manufacturing residues.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew espresso with your Ciglow coffee maker:

  1. Fill Lower Pot: Unscrew the upper pot from the lower pot. Fill the lower pot with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the level of the safety valve.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Insert the filter basket into the lower pot. Fill the filter basket with finely ground coffee. Do not tamp the coffee too tightly.
  3. Assemble: Place the upper pot onto the lower pot and screw them together tightly to ensure a secure seal.
  4. Heat: Place the assembled coffee maker on a heat source (gas, ceramic, or electric stove). Use a medium heat setting.
  5. Brewing: As the water heats, pressure will build, forcing water up through the coffee grounds and into the upper pot.
  6. Serve: Once the upper pot is full of brewed coffee, remove the coffee maker from the heat source immediately. Pour the fresh espresso into a cup.
