The SJCAM SJ9 Strike is a high-performance action camera capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second and capturing 12-megapixel photos. It features a 2.33-inch UHD IPS touch screen, Gyro and EIS stabilization for smooth footage, and a waterproof body allowing dives up to 10 meters without an additional case. The camera also supports wireless charging and live streaming capabilities.

Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

The SJ9 Strike uses a 1300mAh detachable battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the camera.
2. Insert the battery with the contacts aligned correctly.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4. To charge, connect the camera to a power source using the provided USB-C cable. The camera also supports wireless charging for convenience.

2. Micro SD Card Insertion

A Micro SD card (not included) is required for storing photos and videos. The camera supports high-speed Micro SD cards (C10, V60 recommended).

1. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the side of the camera.
2. Insert the Micro SD card with the contacts facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
3. To remove, gently press the card until it springs out.

3. Mounting the Camera

Use the included mounts to attach your SJ9 Strike to various surfaces or gear.

• Base Mount & Frame Mount: Attach the camera to the frame mount, then secure the frame mount to the base mount using the screw.
• Curved & Flat Mounts: Use the 3M adhesive stickers to attach these mounts to helmets or other flat/curved surfaces.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power/Mode button for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Mode button for a few seconds until the camera shuts down.

2. Touch Screen Operation

The 2.33-inch UHD IPS touch screen allows for intuitive navigation through menus and settings. Swipe left/right to change modes, tap to select options, and swipe down from the top for quick settings.

3. Recording Modes

The SJ9 Strike offers various recording modes:

• Video Mode: Standard video recording up to 4K at 60fps.
• Video Lapse: Records video at specified intervals to create time-lapse footage.
• Slow Rec: Captures slow-motion video.
• Still Photo: Captures 12MP still images.
• Photo Lapse: Takes photos at set intervals.
• Burst Mode: Captures multiple photos in quick succession.
• Video + Photo Mode: Captures photos during video recording.
• Car Mode: Functions as a dashcam, automatically recording when powered.
• FPV Mode: Optimized for First Person View applications.

4. Stabilization

The camera features advanced Gyro and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) technology, referred to as "Supersmooth," to minimize shakes and vibrations in your footage, resulting in clear and stable videos.

5. Waterproof Operation

The SJ9 Strike is waterproof up to 10 meters without an additional case. For depths up to 30 meters, use the dedicated waterproof case (sold separately or included in some bundles).

6. Live Streaming

Connect your camera to a network via Wi-Fi to enable live streaming to platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Sina, or custom RTMP servers. Refer to the camera's settings for configuration options.

7. Advanced Settings

Access the camera's menu to adjust various settings, including:

• Language, Wi-Fi, Format, Auto Power Off, Screensaver, Keypad Tone, Brightness, Color Temperature, External Microphone, Date/Time, Gimbal Control, Frequency, Default Settings, UI, and Version information.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera body and lens. For waterproof models, rinse with fresh water after saltwater exposure and allow to air dry.
• Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
• Waterproof Seals: Regularly inspect the waterproof seals for any debris or damage. Ensure they are clean and properly seated before submerging the camera.
• Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a protective case to prevent scratches and damage.

Troubleshooting

• Camera Not Turning On:

  Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Try connecting the camera to a power source via USB-C to see if it powers on.

• Video/Photo Quality Issues:

  Check the lens for smudges or dirt. Ensure you are using a high-speed Micro SD card. Verify that the resolution and frame rate settings are appropriate for your needs.
• Microphone Issues:

  Ensure the microphone ports are not obstructed. If using an external microphone, verify it is properly connected and enabled in the settings.

• Camera Freezing/Unresponsive:

  Perform a soft reset by removing and reinserting the battery. If the issue persists, consider resetting the camera to default settings via the menu.

• Water Leakage:

  Immediately power off the camera and remove the battery. Do not attempt to use it. Contact customer support. Always ensure all ports and covers are securely closed before water exposure.
