3. Operating Instructions
3.1. DPI Adjustment
The mouse features a dedicated DPI button, usually located behind the scroll wheel. Press this button to cycle through the available DPI settings: 1000, 1600, and 2000 DPI. A higher DPI setting results in faster cursor movement, while a lower DPI provides more precise control.
3.2. 4D Scroll Wheel
The scroll wheel on your FG10 mouse supports 4-way scrolling. In addition to vertical scrolling, you can tilt the scroll wheel left or right to perform horizontal scrolling. For full functionality, you may need to install the A4 Tech software.
3.3. 8-in-1 Software Customization
To unlock advanced customization options for your mouse buttons, download the '8-in-1' software from the official A4 Tech website. This software allows you to assign up to 8 different functions to the mouse buttons, enhancing productivity and user experience.

4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and hygiene, clean your mouse regularly. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the mouse's surface or internal components.
4.2. Battery Replacement
When the mouse's performance degrades or it stops responding, it's likely time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 2.1. Always use a fresh AA alkaline battery for best results.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. Mouse Not Responding
- Check Battery: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Check Receiver: Make sure the Nano USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer. Try a different USB port.
- Power Cycle: Turn the mouse off and then on again using the power switch on its underside.
- Distance: Ensure the mouse is within the 15-meter operating range of the receiver and there are no significant obstructions.
5.2. Intermittent Connection
- Interference: Move the mouse and receiver away from other wireless devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones) that might cause interference.
- USB Port: Try plugging the receiver into a USB port on the front of your computer or using a USB extension cable to bring the receiver closer to the mouse.
5.3. Cursor Movement is Erratic or Inaccurate
- Clean Sensor: Ensure the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse is clean and free from dust or debris.
- Surface: Use the mouse on a clean, non-reflective, and uniform surface. Avoid glass or highly reflective surfaces.
- DPI Setting: Adjust the DPI setting to a level that suits your preference and task.
