Setup and Pairing
- Charge the Device: Before first use, fully charge the MaedHawk X4 using the provided USB-C charging cable. The device can also be charged while in use.
- Power On and Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Multi-Function Button (MFB) for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicator flashes, indicating it is in pairing mode.
- Connect to Audio Source: Plug the 3.5mm rotatable jack of the MaedHawk X4 into the AUX input of your car stereo, wired headphones, or home speaker system.
- Pair with Your Smartphone:
- On your smartphone, go to Bluetooth settings.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Search for available devices and select "Maedhawk X4" to connect.
- Once connected, the LED indicator on the adapter will show a steady light.
- Start Streaming: Open your preferred music application on your smartphone and begin playing audio.



Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the MFB for 3 seconds to power on or off.
- Play/Pause: Short press the MFB to play or pause music.
- Volume Up/Down: Short press the "+" button for volume up, short press the "-" button for volume down.
- Next Track/Previous Track: Long press the "+" button for the next track, long press the "-" button for the previous track.
- Answer/End Call: Short press the MFB to answer an incoming call or end an ongoing call.
- Reject Call: Long press the MFB to reject an incoming call.
- Activate Voice Assistant: Double-press the MFB to activate your smartphone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant).
- Dual Device Connection: The MaedHawk X4 supports connecting to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. After pairing the first device, put the adapter back into pairing mode and connect the second device.
Advanced Audio Codec Selection (for Android)
To ensure you are utilizing the highest quality audio codecs like aptX HD or aptX Low Latency, you may need to adjust settings on your Android smartphone. The adapter automatically selects the highest available codec, but manual verification is possible.
- Enable Developer Options: Go to "Settings" > "About phone" (or "System" > "About phone"). Tap "Build number" seven times to enable Developer Options.
- Access Bluetooth Audio Codec Settings: Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Developer options". Find "Bluetooth Audio Codec".
- Select Codec: Choose your desired codec (e.g., aptX HD, aptX Low Latency). Note that the codec will automatically match the highest supported by both your phone and the adapter.

Troubleshooting
- No Power/Device Not Turning On: Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the USB-C charging cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
- Cannot Pair with Smartphone:
- Ensure the adapter is in pairing mode (flashing LED).
- Turn off and on your smartphone's Bluetooth.
- Forget the device from your smartphone's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
- Ensure the adapter is not already connected to another device.
- No Audio or Low Volume:
- Check that the adapter is securely plugged into the AUX input.
- Increase the volume on both the MaedHawk X4 adapter and your smartphone.
- Ensure your car stereo or speaker system is set to the correct AUX input source.

- Sound Distortion/Poor Quality:
- Ensure the 3.5mm connection is secure and clean.
- Move your smartphone closer to the adapter to avoid interference.
- Check if your smartphone supports aptX HD or aptX Low Latency for optimal sound quality.
- Call Quality Issues (Microphone):
- Ensure the adapter's microphone is not obstructed.
- Speak clearly and directly towards the adapter.
- Environmental noise can affect call clarity; CVC8.0 Noise Reduction helps but extreme noise may still impact performance.
