Setup Guide

  1. Plug In Your Chime Pro: Select a standard indoor electrical outlet that is centrally located between your Wi-Fi router and your Ring devices (doorbell/camera). Plug the Chime Pro into the outlet.
  2. Download the Ring App: If you haven't already, download the Ring app from your mobile device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android).
  3. Add Device in App: Open the Ring app, tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top left corner, and select "Set Up a Device."
  4. Scan QR Code: Follow the in-app instructions to scan the QR code located on your Chime Pro or its packaging.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: The app will guide you through connecting your Chime Pro to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz).
  6. Link Ring Devices: Once connected, the app will prompt you to link your existing Ring doorbells and cameras to the Chime Pro's extended network. This will improve their signal strength.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Solution
Chime Pro not connecting to Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and within range.
  • Verify you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password.
  • Try unplugging the Chime Pro for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Move the Chime Pro closer to your Wi-Fi router during setup, then relocate it.
Ring devices still have poor signal.
  • Relocate the Chime Pro to a more central position between your router and the Ring device.
  • Check "Device Health" in the Ring app for RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) values. Lower negative numbers (e.g., -40) are better than higher negative numbers (e.g., -70).
  • Ensure no large metal objects or thick walls are directly between the Chime Pro and your Ring devices.
No chime sound.
  • Check the volume settings for the Chime Pro in the Ring app.
  • Ensure alerts are not snoozed in the app.
  • Verify the Chime Pro is properly linked to your Ring doorbell/camera in the app.
