Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your NPET Cat Water Fountain:

  1. Clean Components: Thoroughly rinse all parts of the fountain (water tank, pump, filter tray, lid, and attachments) with water before first use.
  2. Prepare Filter: Soak the 3-layer filter in clean water for 10 minutes. This helps remove any carbon dust and prepares it for optimal filtration.
  3. Assemble Pump: Insert the water pump into the designated slot at the bottom of the water tank. Ensure it is securely attached.
  4. Place Filter: Position the soaked 3-layer filter into the filter tray. Then, place the filter tray onto the pump assembly within the water tank.
  5. Fill Water Tank: Fill the water tank with clean water up to the 'MAX' line (3L). Do not overfill.
  6. Attach Lid and Spout: Place the fountain lid securely on top of the water tank. Choose your desired water flow attachment (e.g., 3-leaf shape for Leaf Shape Mode) and place it onto the pump's spout on the lid.
  7. Connect Power: Connect the adapter to the fountain's power cable and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The fountain should begin operating immediately.

Operating Instructions

The NPET Cat Water Fountain offers three distinct water flow designs to cater to your pet's preferences and encourage increased water intake:

  • Leaf Shape Mode: Water flows down from three directions, mimicking natural streams, which can attract your pet's attention and encourage them to drink more.
  • Fountain Mode: Provides a soothing spring-water surge, which is less likely to startle sensitive pets and helps increase the water's oxygen content.
  • Gentle Mode: Offers a calm, bubbling water surface, ideal for pets who prefer a quieter drinking experience.

To switch between modes, simply adjust or remove the top attachment as per the fountain's design. The fountain operates with an ultra-quiet pump, ensuring minimal noise disturbance (below 45dB).

In case of a power failure, the fountain's lid is designed with a 200ml capacity of stored water, providing an emergency drinking source for your pet for approximately 3-5 days, depending on consumption.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and filter replacement are crucial for maintaining water quality and extending the life of your fountain. The fountain features a 3-layer filtration system:

  • Sponge: Catches pet hair and debris.
  • Ion Exchange Resin: Softens tap water.
  • Activated Carbon: Removes bad taste and odor.

Cleaning Schedule:

  • Daily: Check water level and refill as needed.
  • Weekly: Clean the water tank, lid, and attachments with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Bi-weekly (or as needed): Disassemble and clean the pump. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for pump cleaning.

Filter Replacement: Replace the 3-layer filter every 2-4 weeks, depending on the number of pets and water hardness. Always soak new filters before use.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your NPET Cat Water Fountain, please refer to the common problems and solutions below:

  • No Water Flow:
    • Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into both the fountain and the wall outlet.
    • Ensure there is sufficient water in the tank. The pump needs to be submerged to operate.
    • Clean the water pump. Hair or debris can clog the impeller. Refer to the pump cleaning instructions in the maintenance section.
  • Weak Water Flow:
    • The filter might be clogged. Replace the filter if it's old or appears dirty.
    • Clean the pump and its components thoroughly.
    • Ensure the water level is adequate.
  • Excessive Noise:
    • The water level might be too low. Refill the tank to the 'MAX' line.
    • Clean the pump. Trapped debris or mineral buildup can cause noise.
    • Ensure the fountain is placed on a flat, stable surface.
  • Water Leaking:
    • Check that the fountain lid is properly seated and sealed.
    • Ensure the water tank is not overfilled.
    • Inspect the pump and tubing for any cracks or disconnections.

If the issue persists after attempting these solutions, please contact NPET customer support for further assistance.
