Setup

Battery Installation

The Kilo 1000 uses a Lithium (CR-1/3N, CR2, 3V, disposable) battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the side or bottom of the device.
  2. Unscrew the battery cap.
  3. Insert the battery with the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Securely replace the battery cap.

Initial Power On

Press the power button (often labeled "MODE" or a similar function button) to turn on the device. The display should illuminate.

Unit Selection (Meters/Yards)

The device can be set to display measurements in either meters or yards. Refer to the operating instructions for specific steps on how to toggle between these units using the mode button.

Operating Instructions

Ranging a Target

To obtain a range measurement:

  1. Look through the monocular eyepiece.
  2. Aim the reticle at your desired target.
  3. Press and release the power/range button. The distance to the target will be displayed in the view.

Scan Mode (HyperScan)

For continuous ranging of multiple targets or moving targets, activate HyperScan mode:

  1. Press and hold the power/range button.
  2. Pan the rangefinder across the targets. The display will update 4 times per second, providing real-time distance readings.
  3. Release the button to exit scan mode.

Angle Modified Range (AMR) / Line of Sight (LOS)

The Kilo 1000 can provide both Line of Sight (direct distance) and Angle Modified Range (compensated distance for incline/decline). Consult the device's internal menu or mode settings to switch between these display options based on your specific needs.

Low-Light Performance

The High Transmittance LCD display is optimized for superior performance in low-light conditions, ensuring clear readings even at dawn or dusk.

Maintenance

Cleaning Lenses

Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses to clean the monocular and laser apertures. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

Storage

Store the rangefinder in its protective case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.

Water Resistance

The device has an International Protection Rating of IP54, meaning it is protected from dust and splashing water from any direction. It is not designed for submersion.
