Setup
1. Initial Time Setting and Mobile Link
The GGB100-1A3 watch can synchronize its time with a smartphone via Bluetooth. This is the recommended method for initial setup and maintaining accurate time.
- Download the G-SHOCK Connected App: Search for "G-SHOCK Connected" in your smartphone's app store and install it.
- Enable Bluetooth on your Smartphone: Ensure Bluetooth is active on your device.
- Pair the Watch:
- On the watch, hold down the 'CONNECT' button (usually top right) for several seconds until the watch enters pairing mode (indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon or "PAIR" on the digital display).
- Open the G-SHOCK Connected app on your smartphone and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new watch. Select the GGB100-1A3 model.
- Confirm the pairing on both the watch and the app. Once paired, the watch will automatically adjust its time based on your phone's time.
- Configure Settings via App: Use the app to customize world time cities, alarm settings, and other watch functions for easier management.
2. Manual Time Adjustment (if Mobile Link is not used)
Refer to the detailed instructions in the full Casio module manual for manual time and date adjustments if you choose not to use the Mobile Link feature. This typically involves holding down the 'ADJUST' button (not explicitly labeled in images, usually top left) and navigating through settings using other buttons.
Operating Instructions
Basic Mode Navigation
Press the 'MODE' button (usually bottom left) to cycle through the watch's various modes: Timekeeping, Compass, Altimeter/Barometer, Thermometer, Step Counter, Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, Alarm, and World Time.
Quad Sensor Functions
- Digital Compass: Press the 'COMP' button to activate the compass. The second hand will indicate North, and the digital display will show the direction and bearing.
- Altimeter/Barometer: Press the 'ALTI' button to display current altitude and atmospheric pressure. The watch logs altitude data automatically.
- Thermometer: Accessible via the 'SENSOR' button or specific mode. For accurate temperature readings, remove the watch from your wrist for at least 20-30 minutes to avoid body heat interference.
- Step Counter: The watch automatically counts your steps using a 3-axis acceleration sensor. View your step count in the dedicated mode or via the G-SHOCK Connected app.
Note: Sensor readings can be affected by environmental conditions and magnetic fields. Calibrate sensors regularly for optimal accuracy, especially the compass and altimeter, using the G-SHOCK Connected app or manual calibration procedures.
Mobile Link Functions (G-SHOCK Connected App)
Once paired, the app provides enhanced functionality:
- Automatic Time Adjustment: The watch connects to your phone several times a day to ensure accurate timekeeping.
- World Time Setup: Easily select and swap world time cities.
- Mission Log: Records altitude data and route information from the watch's sensors, creating an activity log.
- Location Indicator: Records your current location and displays the bearing and distance to a specified destination.
- Mode Switching Customization: Personalize the order and visibility of watch modes.
- Phone Finder: Use the watch to trigger an audible alert on your paired smartphone.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean your watch to prevent dirt and grime buildup, especially after exposure to mud or saltwater.
- Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth.
- For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush and mild soap with water. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch thoroughly with fresh water.
Water Resistance
Your watch is rated for 200-meter water resistance. This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. Do not operate buttons while the watch is submerged in water or wet, as this can compromise the water resistance.
Battery Replacement
The watch uses one CR123A battery. When the battery power is low, the display may dim or functions may become unstable. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by an authorized Casio service center to ensure proper sealing and water resistance integrity.
Troubleshooting
- Incorrect Time: Ensure the watch is paired with your smartphone and the G-SHOCK Connected app is running. If not using Mobile Link, manually adjust the time.
- Inaccurate Sensor Readings: Calibrate the compass and altimeter regularly, especially after significant changes in location or environment. For temperature, remove the watch from your wrist.
- Bluetooth Connection Issues:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Check if the watch is within range of your phone.
- Restart both the watch (by removing and reinserting the battery, if comfortable, or performing a factory reset if available) and your smartphone.
- Unpair and re-pair the watch through the G-SHOCK Connected app.
- Display is Blank or Dim: This may indicate a low battery. Replace the CR123A battery.
- Buttons Unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not in a locked mode. If the issue persists after a battery change or restart, contact customer support.
