1. Introduction
The KERUI G18 is a GSM-based wireless home security alarm system designed to provide comprehensive protection for your property. It operates using a standard 2G SIM card for communication, allowing remote control via calls, SMS, or a dedicated mobile application. The system supports various wireless sensors and features a built-in backup battery for continuous operation during power outages.
2. System Components
The KERUI G18 alarm system typically includes the following components:
- G18 Alarm Panel: The central unit with a keypad and display.
- PIR Motion Detector: Detects movement within its coverage area.
- Door/Window Sensor: Detects the opening of doors or windows.
- Remote Controls: For arming, disarming, and emergency functions.
- Wired Siren: Provides an audible alarm when triggered.
- Power Adapter: For powering the main panel.

3. Setup Instructions
3.1. G18 Panel Overview

3.2. SIM Card Installation
- Ensure the alarm panel is powered off.
- Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the panel (refer to Figure 3.1).
- Insert a standard 2G GSM SIM card into the slot. Ensure the SIM card is active and has sufficient credit for calls and SMS.
- Power on the alarm panel. The system will attempt to register with the GSM network.
3.3. Power Connection
- Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 5V power port on the alarm panel (refer to Figure 3.1).
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- The panel has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery (3.7V) that acts as a backup during power outages.
3.4. Sensor Pairing
The KERUI G18 system supports up to 99 wireless sensors. Refer to the specific sensor's manual for detailed pairing instructions. Generally, the process involves putting the G18 panel into learning mode and then triggering the sensor to register it with the system.
3.5. Mobile Application Setup
The G18 system can be controlled via a mobile application. Follow these steps to set up the app:
- Download the “GSM ALARM” application from your smartphone’s app store.
- For Android devices: Download Android App
- For iOS devices: Download iOS App
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your G18 alarm panel. This typically involves entering the panel's phone number and a password.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Operation Flow

4.2. Arming and Disarming
The system can be armed or disarmed using the remote control, the alarm panel keypad, or the mobile application.
- Arm: Activates all sensors. Any triggered sensor will initiate an alarm.
- Home Arm (Stay Arm): Activates perimeter sensors (e.g., door/window sensors) while allowing movement within the property (e.g., PIR sensors are disarmed).
- Disarm: Deactivates all sensors, preventing alarms.

4.3. Remote Control via Call/SMS/App
The G18 system allows for remote management:
- Call: Dial the SIM card number in the alarm panel to arm, disarm, or listen in.
- SMS: Send specific SMS commands to the panel's SIM card number for various functions. Refer to the full manual for a list of commands.
- App: Use the mobile application for a user-friendly interface to control the system (refer to Section 3.5).
4.4. SOS Function
The remote controls and the mobile application feature an SOS button. Pressing this button will immediately trigger an emergency alarm and notify pre-programmed emergency contacts.
4.5. Zone Types
The G18 system offers 8 types of defense zones, each with specific behaviors:

- Normal Zone: Triggers an immediate alarm upon detection.
- Stay Zone: Does not alert when activated while the system is in 'Home Arm' mode.
- Intelligent Zone: Sends an immediate alarm after two consecutive detections within 30 seconds.
- Senior Zone: Automatically dials 3 help numbers when activated, suitable for elderly care.
- Chime Zone: Makes a 'ding dong' sound when triggered.
- Welcome Zone: Makes a 'welcome' sound when triggered.
- Emergency Zone: Alerts immediately when activated. Typically used for gas detectors and emergency buttons.
- Closed Zone: No alarm is triggered when the detector is activated, regardless of the system's state.
4.6. Two-Way Audio
The G18 panel supports two-way audio communication. The host can directly call other phones like a regular phone. Users can also control the panel via the app to play voice messages to deter intruders when an alarm is triggered.

4.7. Scheduled Arm/Disarm
The system allows you to set up to 4 groups of scheduled arm/disarm times. This feature automates the security process, eliminating the need for daily manual operations.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Management
The G18 alarm panel includes a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. This battery automatically takes over power supply during an outage. Ensure the main power adapter is connected to keep the internal battery charged. Periodically check the battery status via the panel display or mobile app.
5.2. Tamper Protection
The G18 panel features a built-in tamper switch on the rear. If the panel is removed from its mounting position without authorization, this switch will trigger an alarm.
5.3. Sensor Battery Replacement
Wireless sensors (PIR, door/window) are battery-powered. When a sensor's battery is low, the system may indicate this on the panel or via the app. Replace batteries promptly with the recommended type (e.g., alkaline) to ensure continuous protection.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. SIM Card Not Recognized
- Check SIM Card Type: Ensure it is a standard 2G GSM SIM card. The system does not support WiFi.
- Verify SIM Activation: Confirm the SIM card is active and has credit by testing it in a mobile phone.
- Reinsert SIM: Power off the panel, remove and reinsert the SIM card carefully, then power on.
- Try Another SIM: If issues persist, try a SIM card from a different provider (e.g., Orange, Movistar, Vodafone in Spain) to rule out network compatibility issues.
6.2. Mobile Application Issues
- App Crashing/Not Functioning: Ensure you have the latest version of the “GSM ALARM” app. Try reinstalling the app.
- Connectivity Problems: Verify your phone has a stable internet connection. Ensure the alarm panel's SIM card has network coverage.
- Incorrect Commands: Double-check that you are sending the correct commands or using the app features as intended.
6.3. Sensor Not Detecting or Triggering
- Check Battery: Replace the sensor's battery if it is low.
- Sensor Placement: Ensure PIR sensors are placed at an optimal height and angle (e.g., 2-2.2m high, detecting 0-8m distance with 110° horizontal and 60° vertical angle). Door/window sensors should have their two parts aligned and close together.
- Re-pair Sensor: If a sensor stops responding, try re-pairing it with the main panel.
