1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:

  • Always ensure the turntable and roller ring are correctly positioned before operation.
  • Do not heat liquids or other foods in sealed containers since they are liable to explode.
  • Never use the oven for deep-frying.

  • This appliance is designed for heating food. It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use.

3. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the microwave oven from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, including any protective film or tape. Inspect the oven for any damage.
  2. Placement: Place the microwave oven on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, such as a countertop. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the oven: at least 10 cm (4 inches) at the rear, 20 cm (8 inches) on the sides, and 30 cm (12 inches) above.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the specifications of the oven (110 Volts). Do not use extension cords or adapters.
  4. Turntable Installation: Place the roller ring in the center of the oven cavity. Then, place the glass turntable securely on top of the roller ring. Ensure it rotates freely.

4. Operating Instructions

Your WINIA KOR-16SSM microwave oven features a touch control panel for easy operation.

4.1 Basic Cooking

  1. Place food in a microwave-safe container on the turntable.
  2. Close the oven door securely.
  3. Select the desired cooking time and power level using the touch controls.
  4. Press the 'Start' button to begin cooking.

4.2 Quick Start Function

The quick start button allows for immediate cooking at full power for a set duration, typically 30 seconds or 1 minute per press. Press the 'Quick Start' button repeatedly to add more time in increments.

4.3 Defrost Function

The defrost function allows you to thaw frozen food efficiently.

  1. Place the frozen food in the oven.
  2. Press the 'Defrost' button.
  3. Enter the weight of the food or select the appropriate defrost setting based on the food type.
  4. Press 'Start'. The oven may prompt you to turn the food over halfway through the defrost cycle.

4.4 Timer Function

The timer can be used independently as a kitchen timer or to set a delayed start for cooking.

  • Kitchen Timer: Press the 'Timer' button, enter the desired time, and press 'Start'. The oven will count down without cooking.
  • Delayed Start: Set your cooking program first, then press 'Timer', enter the delay time, and press 'Start'. The oven will wait for the delay time to elapse before starting the cooking program.

4.5 Child Safety Lock

To prevent unintended operation, especially by children, activate the child safety lock.

  • To Activate: Press and hold the 'Stop/Cancel' button for approximately 3 seconds until a lock indicator appears on the display.
  • To Deactivate: Press and hold the 'Stop/Cancel' button again for approximately 3 seconds until the lock indicator disappears.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your microwave oven.

  • Interior Cleaning: After each use, wipe the interior with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting water into the ventilation openings.
  • Door and Seals: Keep the door seals and adjacent parts clean. Wipe them regularly with a damp cloth to remove any spills or splatters.
  • Turntable and Roller Ring: The glass turntable and roller ring can be removed for cleaning. Wash them in warm, soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back in the oven.
  • Odor Removal: To remove odors, combine a cup of water with several lemon slices or a tablespoon of vinegar in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for 5-7 minutes, then let it sit in the oven for a few minutes before wiping the interior.
