3.3 Initial Use (Protective Coating Burn-Off)
Before first use, it is recommended to perform an initial burn-off to eliminate any protective coating on the heating element. This may produce a small amount of smoke and odor, which is normal and will dissipate.
- Ensure the hot plate is placed in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors or near an open window.
- Plug the hot plate into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob to the highest setting (level 11) for 3-5 minutes without any cookware on the plate.
- The smoke and odor will gradually disappear. Once complete, turn the knob to 'OFF' and unplug the unit. Allow it to cool completely before proceeding with cooking.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On and Temperature Control
- Place your desired cookware on the heating plate.
- Plug the hot plate into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob clockwise to select your desired heat setting from 1 (low) to 11 (high). The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the burner is active.
- The indicator light will cycle on and off as the hot plate maintains the selected temperature. This is normal operation.
- To turn off the hot plate, turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the 'OFF' position. The indicator light will turn off.
