Product Overview

The BlackVue Coaxial Video Cable (CC-6) is a male-to-male coaxial cable, 6 meters (19.58 feet) in length, specifically designed for BlackVue dashcam systems. It features a braided design for durability and optimal signal integrity, ensuring clear video transmission between your dashcam's front and rear units.

Setup and Installation

Connecting the Cable

Follow these steps to properly connect your BlackVue Coaxial Video Cable:

  1. Ensure your BlackVue dashcam system is powered off before beginning installation.
  2. Locate the rear camera input port on your front dashcam unit. This port is typically labeled for the rear camera connection.
  3. Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the rear camera input port on the front dashcam. Ensure the connection is secure.
  4. Route the cable carefully from the front dashcam to the desired mounting location of your rear camera. Avoid sharp bends or pinching the cable.
  5. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the output port on your BlackVue rear camera. Ensure the connection is secure.
  6. Once both ends are securely connected, you may power on your dashcam system. Verify that the rear camera is recognized and functioning correctly through the dashcam's display or mobile application.

Cable Routing Tips

  • For a clean installation, route the cable along the vehicle's headliner, A-pillars, or door sills.
  • Use cable clips or adhesive mounts to secure the cable and prevent it from interfering with vehicle operation or passenger movement.
  • Avoid routing the cable near heat sources or moving parts that could damage it.

Operation

Once installed, the coaxial cable operates passively, transmitting video signals from the rear camera to the front dashcam unit. No user interaction is required for the cable's operation. The dashcam system will automatically detect and utilize the connected rear camera for recording.

Maintenance

  • Keep the cable clean and free from dust or debris.
  • Regularly inspect the cable and its connectors for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
  • Avoid excessive pulling or bending of the cable, especially near the connectors, to prevent internal damage.
  • If the cable becomes damaged, replace it with an official BlackVue coaxial cable to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

Troubleshooting

Rear Camera Not Detected

  • Check Connections: Ensure both ends of the coaxial cable are securely plugged into the front dashcam and the rear camera.
  • Inspect Cable: Look for any visible damage, kinks, or cuts on the cable. A damaged cable may need replacement.
  • Restart Dashcam: Power off and then power on your BlackVue dashcam system.
  • Test with Another Cable (if available): If you have access to another compatible BlackVue coaxial cable, try using it to rule out a cable fault.

Intermittent Video Signal

  • Secure Connections: Ensure all connections are tight and not loose.
  • Check for Interference: Ensure the cable is not routed too close to other electrical wires or devices that might cause interference.
  • Cable Integrity: As with detection issues, inspect the cable for damage.
